December 14, 20168 yr Author okay so I made a bit of a mistake. Charlie Puth is in my top 100 :heehee: sorry non Charlie fans :P
December 15, 20168 yr Author right I have finished all my data systems to work out and order my top 100 tracks of the year. My chart will be based of these factors.... Chart Runs Chart Best Peaks & thought on the song (whether some I've grown tired of or have grown on me despite what the chart run or peak suggests) ///// (My past system would not make the slightest bit of sense, too complicated and used division as a ways to put a song (especially a #1 with more than a week) higher up combined, most of the #1's would be put in order with the longest runs & amounts of weeks at #1 in order! It even confused me and I'd been going by it for like 7 or 8 different eoy's but weirdly enough it did give a estimated position that worked with the no.s in my ordered list of long running tracks with best peaks/ one week #1's or more etc. It sounds mind confusing even mentioning this but it did makes sense towards how I worked my chart out haha!) Yeah don't worry if you've read this and are still lost :heehee: (and yes duh division would mean taking off instead of adding on to make things combined lmao, it worked as reversed maths for how reflective it was tho) -- right before I start. the 5 unlucky tracks from 105-101 at the last minute cut off are.... 101. Fergie - MILF$ (20.30.32.26.17.25.26.32.28.28.34) 11 Weeks (partially this has failed to make it under the overall thought of the song despite it's lengthy run for a #17 peaker & the video was hot stuff *.*, I just simply don't like the song a whole lot to put it amongst my top 100 tracks of the year) 102. OneRepublic - Kids (19.17.16.14.22.21.17.29.32.33) 10 Weeks 103. Alessia Cara - Scars To Your Beautiful (16.05.08.13.12.26.39) 7 Weeks 104. Tom Odell - Magnetised (29.10.11.11.16.32) 6 Weeks 105. The Veronicas - On Your Side (17.27.37.X.R06.08.17.24) 7 Weeks Edited December 15, 20168 yr by XMAS Rob S~
December 15, 20168 yr Author 100 ~ 7YQ_UY11uMw Busted - On What You're On // Chart Run (25.11.14.16.19.28.25.29.24.35) 10 Weeks 99 ~ vn-6fiVkAcA Bastille - Send Them Off (40.28.21.13.16.16.22.31.33.37) 10 Weeks Off we go and we're kicking off with two tracks that didn't even make my ACTUAL :jameela: top 10! Busted returned with a rather unusual and experimental track in a bid to try and fit in with the current chart sounds, this was surprisingly quite a good effort for them. I've been a fan of them back in the day anyway (got the debut album in my room  ) this song peaked at the unfortunate position of #11 and only left my chart last week! Bastille are next with the first of two entries inside the top 100, again this failed to make my top 10, being struck with unlucky 13th as a peak. 'Send Them Off' was a fab follow up to 'Good Grief' and that's what pushes this into my top 100 based on my overall thoughts about the song alone (otherwise it would have missed out on the first two factors I mentioned my chart is based on). I actually prefer it to GG now actually but it kinda didn't pick up enough in the official chart to send it into my personal chart top 10! :( -- on the way appearances from Alan Walker, Christine & The Queens, Fifth Harmony & Lady GaGa! December 15, 20168 yr Author 98 ~ 4_bLBYOA-UQ Kream Ft Clara Mae - Taped Up Heart // (17.15.10.11.05.16.34) 7 Weeks Our first wave of tropical dance tracks comes 98th from Kream and guest vocals delivered by Clara Mae. 'Taped Up Heart' is still currently in my top 40 and charting, it's been making an appearance in the spotify charts albeit not too high yet but I wonder if this will be a hit in the new year? ... who knows. It's catchy enough! Edited December 15, 20168 yr by XMAS Rob S~
December 15, 20168 yr Author 97 ~ 3AtDnEC4zak Charlie Puth Ft Selena Gomez - We Don't Talk Anymore (21.24.19.24.20.18.14.20.31) 9 Weeks 96 ~ CpvXI7lATvw Alice & The Glass Lake - Coals (03.02.05.11.24.19) 6 Weeks Ok mistake again Fifth Harmony aren't in my top 100, oops seems like they were accidentally left in there when they meant to have been knocked out. All In My Head that was out of interest.. Anyway Charlie Puth is up next at 97 with his 4th single from Nine Track Mind, not to be confused with Cliff Richards famous track of the same title... 'We Don't Talk Anymore', this features former Disney turned pop princess Selena Gomez who is to appear with another song herself much later on! This year has been extremely sad for musician deaths especially big names like Bowie, Prince & Leonard Cohen. The former and latter both had released albums very close to their deaths and one thing that intrigued me was that it was hugely based on the fact that they both had inklings they were going to die soon, this is what them two have in common with Alice Lamke who is known under the artist name Alice & The Glass Lake. Sadly Alice is also no longer with us as she actually passed away in August of 2015 from Leukemia aged 28 :snif: Rest in peace xxx, which brings me to 'Coals'. I first discovered this in November after browsing Facebook and Kiesza who was friends with Alice shared this track which was accompanied by a beautiful music video shot just 3 WEEKS before Alice passed. It's a really nice song and I'd recommend giving it a listen. Apologies for the slightly morbid end to tonights section :'( Edited December 15, 20168 yr by XMAS Rob S~
December 16, 20168 yr Author 95 ~ 34Na4j8AVgA The Weeknd ft Daft Punk - StarBoy (25.21.17.15.21.33.37.35.40.35) 10 Weeks 94 ~ nPiPGeOoGns Valerie Broussard - A Little Wicked (01.03.05.08.18.22.24.30.35) 9 Weeks 93 ~ w5h4yJ-BpL4 Walking On Cars - Speeding Cars (29.07.08.18.22.24.30) 7 Weeks In at 95 we find The Weeknd thinking he's some kind of 'Starboy', his big return single after that huuuuge Beauty Behind The Madness Era, in the video he now sports a short haired looked and is shown murdering his former self. 94 is the first #1 in my top 100 this year :o and IIRC 'Hello' was around this place last year (that's still to come btw), 'A Little Wicked' charted as a Buzzjack Song Contest potential all the way back in February only to be knocked off by Genevieve, the song is an easy movie sounding track accompanied by a Lorde esque vocal and production, if your a fan of Lorde then you might like this! 93 comes from unknown Irish Band Walking On Cars, the lead singer's voice is so identical to Charlie Simpson off Busted it's INSANE :jameela: 'Speeding Cars' also got sent to BJSC later in the year where it DNQed :'( Edited December 16, 20168 yr by XMAS Rob S~
December 16, 20168 yr Hi Rob Starboy was a fantastic comeback single imo, it oozes coolness and it is very catchy too. He's had two great singles already from this era, I hope IFIC becomes just as huge too although it is already doing great. We Don't Talk Anymore is a catchy little tune too, definitely should have been a bigger chart hit imo. I've grown into quite a fan of Charlie, all his tracks are quite nice and he seems likeable. Hope his Little Mix collab will be big in 2017  :D
December 16, 20168 yr Speeding Cars :music: It was around before I had my cahrt, but it would have certainly been a December #1 if it was Send Them Off is good as well!
December 16, 20168 yr Author 92 ~ Alan Walker Ft Iselin Solheim - Sing Me To Sleep Chart Peak 14 Weeks on chart 10 91 ~ Izzy Bizu - White Tiger Chart Peak 12 Weeks on chart 8 Recap 100. Busted - On What You're On 99. Bastille - Send Them Off 98. KREAM Ft Clara Mae - Taped Up Heart 97. Charlie Puth Ft Selena Gomez - We Don't Talk Anymore 96. Alice & The Glass Lake - Coals 95. The Weeknd ft Daft Punk - StarBoy 94. Valerie Broussard - A Little Wicked 93. Walking On Cars - Speeding Cars 92. Alan Walker Ft Iselin Solheim - Sing Me To Sleep 91. Izzy Bizu - White Tiger Alan Walker sings us to sleep nicely with the soothing delicate vocals from Norweigan singer Iselin Solheim who also features on big hit 'Faded' which is a contender for number 1, sadly I have only just recently really grown affectionate of it as for some reason it didn't reflect too well in my chart with a peak of 14. Izzy Bizu ' s 'White Tiger' completes 100-91 area. I first heard the song in town, nice catchy soul pop song even if her voice isn't anything special! 90-81 comes tomorrow :) I'll edit videos in later. Edited December 16, 20168 yr by XMAS Rob S~
December 17, 20168 yr Author 90 ~ Xn599R0ZBwg (08.21.17.28.37) 5 Weeks 89 ~ ZzFYmz2lfT4 (39.03.10.16.30.32.40) 7 Weeks We enter the top 90 zone and to many this would usually be a shock and sound rather unusual but coming in at number 90 is LADY GAGA :o one of the biggest artists of our generation. It's kinda strange wrapping my head around a lead single of hers being so low and GaGa making only 1 appearance in a EOY rundown on mine as a measle position of 90 however much of that shock would immediately vanish when Stefani Germonatta who uses the stage name Lady GaGa come back after a 2 and a half year hiatus with this rock pop anthem 'Perfect Illusion', well Delusion could be a better word to use if she thought this would return her back to her chart dominance days, the track was greeted with an extremely mixed reception and it reflected in it's official chart performance, maanging to only reach 12 before crashing all the way out of the top 40 the following week. Thankfully the track did manage more than 1 week in my chart but it's still a huge underperformance considering pretty much song of hers has had much longer/better runs and the majority going top 5! In 2009 GaGa occupied two positions in my eoy with Just Dance at 2 & Pokerface at 4. We Miss Them Dayzzz :'( The first of two showings for Christine & The Queens comes with her latest single 'Saint Claude' which isn't as good as 'Tilted' which is still to come but was quite good in it's own right!
December 18, 20168 yr Author 88 ~ Q0oIoR9mLwc (40.X2.R24.17.14.04.13.17.32) 8 Weeks 87 ~ OXWrjWDQh7Q (18.17.11.08.09.12.22.34) 8 Weeks 86 ~ 9NXtO3tm2aQ (25.15.21.19.29) 5 Weeks A return single from the Red Hot Chili Peppers probably wasn't something many people really desired for in 2016 with them getting older and everything and not sounding as good as they were 10 years so but we however did get new music from them this year. 'Dark Necessities' initially flew over my head as I really didn't like it much at all, claiming that they'd gone all soft in their fifties ditching there signature sound but luckily enough it did worm it's way into my head and I began to enjoy with more listens. It's still obviously nowhere near being in there ultimate tracks though and probably wouldn't appear in a top 100 of there tracks! Another band next at 87 and it's OneRepublic who seem to have had a huge career revival since the mega hit 'Counting Stars' stormed to #1 in a gradual based ascent from outside the top 40 up to the top. 3 years later after that huge era came 'Wherever I Go' which looking back wasn't amazing or anything but it was still a solid enough lead single even if I do prefer 'Kids' myself now! As touched on with 2016 being a most notably tragic year in general earlier, some positives came out of the year for some musicians.... one being 'Can I get a little Reeeewind' himself Craig David, Craig is no stranger to chart success, achieving several #1's in the official chart in the early noughties but went quiet from 2008 and he also hadn't really made a big impression on my chart when it first started in 2007. 'When The Bassline Drops' did only spend 5 weeks inside my top 40 in the earlier part of the year upon release with a peak of #15 but it's safe to say it's certainly held up well, more so than the chart run or peak suggests... Craig will be back with Blonde a little later on! Edited December 18, 20168 yr by XMAS Rob S~
December 18, 20168 yr Author 85 ~ svhGUlB9V5U (05.07.04.04.02.07.13) 7 Weeks 84 ~ XCXtD4nvMO4 (31.15.24.29.24.09.10.20.39) 9 Weeks X Factor 2015 Champ Louisa feels 'So Good' at number 85, it's her debut single if you ignore the x factor single and has touches of Joss Stone to the song. Her voice is incredible and I really hope 2017 continues to get bigger for Louisa, she does feature on Clean Bandit's 'Tears' which is still to come! Feels a little weird to have a song called 'Geronimo' pop up so often in my eoy charts because we had Australian band Sheppard release a song under that title and now we have another one from George Morgan who goes under the artist name The Beach, he comes from Clapham South London. We don't know an awful lot about him really although he's been on radio 1's playlist once or twice I think... I very nearly sent this to BJSC a few months ago but decided against it as I figured it wouldn't do anything but it's a decent alternative track!
December 18, 20168 yr Author 83 ~ fEOyePhElr4 (39.37.37.36.29.28.22.26.37) 9 Weeks 82 ~ wyK7YuwUWsU (17.10.06.05.08.11.22.38) 8 Weeks Emerging new talent Dua Lipa made a splash in the charts with two songs, one of them still to come, any guesses what that is ;) 'Hotter Than Hell' though appears here at 83 on the countdown. gotta be honest I wasn't seeing all the big praise for this when it first premiered which is why it was dragging in the 30's for the beginning of it's chart run in my top 40, it gradually grew on me though and ended up reaching 22, whilst this was still very low a peak.. I do now love it and regretted now re-entering it inside the top 10 but by then it was on it's way out of the top 40 and then the follow up took attention. It sounds so great whenever it comes on the radio! Just 1 sole appearance for Taylor Swift this year and it comes from the 7th.... YES 7TH single from her latest album 1989 in the form of 'New Romantics'. We anticipate new material from Taylor in the next 12 months and that it'll be just as amazing as the majority of her singles from the last era! Edited December 18, 20168 yr by XMAS Rob S~
December 18, 20168 yr Author 81 ~ t867nz_OQos (34.25.18.19.14.13.12.OUT) 6 Weeks dance banger 'Piece Of Me' from MK featuring Becky Hill (the one who appeared in first series of The Voice & was responsible for featuring on big hits like 'Afterglow & Gecko) enters in at 81. This had a really bizarre end to it's reign, having been a sleeper hit gradually climbing up to an eventual peak of #12 before vanishing the next week :o I'm pretty sure I meant to have it in a bit longer than that, must've made a mistake as it never even re-entered and not because I went off the song at all. I didn't even put it in my dropouts of that week so a clear error cut it's chart run abruptly short. It probably wouldn't have remained in the chart for too much longer though! Recap! 81. MK Ft Becky Hill – Piece of Me 82. Taylor Swift – New Romantics 83. Dua Lipa – Hotter Than Hell 84. The Beach – Geronimo 85. Louisa Johnson - So Good 86. Craig David – When The Baseline Drops 87. OneRepublic – Wherever I Go 88. Red Hot Chili Peppers – Dark Necessities 89. Christine & the Queens - Saint Claude 90. Lady GaGa – Perfect Illusion 91. Izzy Bizu – White Tiger 92. Mishcatt was pegged as my Summericia entry in September until I opted for Billie Ray purely because I knew 'Gun To The Head' would struggle and possibly keep me in the bottom 10 even longer or bring my previous dnq streak by that time of 2 up to 3 consecutively through the summer to autumn period. This is poptastic though  We head back to BJSC 87 now where Ultraviolence/Sam entered this beauty and came top 15 with in the final.. Casi's 'Lion' is no.79 whilst the winner of the 81st contest represented my Deandria in 'Sanctuary' by Allie X comes up at 78. This is not the last we'll see of her though :P Edited December 18, 20168 yr by XMAS Rob S~

I say this when her debut single has been lingering in the lower half of spotify charts recently so she could get a hit next year. 'Stay' was a superb track and it did very well for itself despite not going top 10, it does actually achieve a higher positon than STS did last year by about 10 places or so. Continuing with dance hits, Sigala pop up with 'Say You Do' at 76, this smashed into my top 5 however one would think the guys could've just left this to the summer time as it would have no doubt been a much bigger chart hit officially! Little Mix give a Shout Out to number 75 as there latest official #1 enters here following that is the epic trance tune 'Destiny' by Markus Schulz Ft Delacey. Markus was included in the top 100 DJ's of 2015 and it's no surprise when he's pushing out killer songs like this, be prepared to be mesmerizied by this glorious song & soothing vocals from Delacey with emotional lyrics! Finally from this batch is the incredible Pink with the.... not so incredible 'Just Like Fire'. I say that only because it's from the best track she's usually capable of, having said this, it was for a movie. Alice Through The Looking Glass so I appreciated it enough for a lengthy run purely based on it being a soundtrack. I really can't wait for new Pink music though *.* BRING IT OWWWWNNN  Edited December 18, 20168 yr by XMAS Rob S~
