Thanks guys, yes Josh I get what you mean. I did go off Hello a fair bit but it's sounding brill again atm. Her other tracks also haven't held up too much either even though they are still to come. Haven't been feeling Adele properly this era for some reason actually :(

Thanks Pete, yup No Money is a tune and I do agree that it does get a bit tiring. I did grow tired of it on the end tbf but that's purely because it hung around for yonks in the chart lmao.

I prefer Lean On to both of those but fair enough. Major Lazer has been on a roll lately snapping up 3 big hits!

Yup well Rockabye could have been about 10 places lower had i not involved some of my personal opinion/love which boosted it up a bit. It would be a #1 contender had it been released in July/August :(

Thanks TS0301, glad ur enjoying the countdown. Hope you continue to reply. The more comment the better.

Oops left this sorta late to continue tonight... coming tomorrow is 56!

sorry for no fancy fonts and stuff atm just whizzing some in now in lazy form haha. Little Mix's highest placing this year comes from their beautiful ballad from the start of the year. Jason Derulo makes a special feature in the track too & Yehesi's big BJSC Smash Era Istrefi wants us to taste her 'Bon Bon' which comes 55th!

edit fonts in now!

Hiya Rob

Wow at SLS being the highest of Little Mix for you this year, think it will be their lowest for me. I like it a lot but it doesn't excite me in the same way as their uptempos and Jason is kind of terrible in it, especially the video! Think he turned up to the wrong shoot with those dance moves...

Yay at Light It Up making the list here, seems to be quite underrated on the site but I was huge on it. It is SUCH a catchy tune, not as amazing as Lean On for me but I'm so glad it had such a long official chart run. Way better than Cold Water for me!

Live version

Snakehips & Tinashe's biggest hits to date (and Chance for that matter) obviously is 'All My Friends', this took off in January and did very well in my chart... clearly the song is about getting pissed and connects with so much young adults because that's the norm in life when your having fun with friends!

Next up is a BJSC winner :o coming from Salt Ashes, 'Save It' won back in May and charged ahead of the competition with a nice big lead over 400 points IIRC.. for some reason I thought I charted it higher but sadly not only making 20. It deserves higher obviously but makes a great showing, placing at a nice position of #53. Kudos to Jake who is behind the country name FARC for this incredible song  her voice is superb too which is why I added an live video she recorded at BBC because it's extremely good <3

Before we head into the top 50, these two unlucky ladies miss out... two of the biggest females artists of the 21st Century, my Queen Kelly Clarkson is number 52, probably the first time she's missed the top 40 EOY with any song and it probably would've been had it not left in the first 6 months of the year especially with a short run... the Idol performance of 'Piece By Piece' left no one in sight with dry tears and not even Kelly managed to get through it without breaking down as it's a song about her relationship with her father, the song was a highlight of Kelly's latest album anyway but this adds more depth to it I think.

J-lo is famous for her music (and her butt of course), she's quite fast to lay it on thick as to not being your mama (most guys would possibly want her too tbh x) J-Lo hasn't had that many hits since her 2011 revival but it's safe to say this is her best single after 'Into You' for me!

Into the top 50 we go....

#50

(22.25.23.13.10.09.06.21.16.22.28) 11 Weeks

Kicking off at 50 we ave a former representative of mine in BJSC, you might remember 'Knocking On your Heart' was sent by me in October of last year and to my distain cruelly DNQED  when it was my favourite entry of mine last year, the song even made my top 40 of 2015 coming in at 38, Maggie's had a couple of other songs since then 'Couple Of Kids' wasn't very good at all & 'Things' was decent. I even charted a remix of it earlier which did quite well but not enough to make my top 100. Next comes along 'Pretty Girl' a nice little pop record that to my surprise made an appearance in the live popbars top 1500 on release, managing to get a high as 440 :o Maggie is a youtube star as you could possibly tell and her as a person hasn't got love from everyone... I wouldn't say her voice is anything that special but I do think it suits tracks like Things, KOYH & this one!

Next at 49 we have the first entry of 2016 from Mulgracia which is from Chairlift, 'Moth To The Flame' is a funky catchy little song that did very well upon being sent and it got a lot of love on plug too from the sessions I went on lol. It managed to scrape my top 10 and hang around for 10 weeks, this was only top 20 about 4 months ago in my eoy updating so a lot has changed in my chart, sorry James that it's fallen a lot since then but take comfort in knowing it made my top 50... just :D

Dua Lipa blew our minds this year with two hotter than hell tracks, the only thing of course is that the title track 'Hotter Than Hell' has already appeared in my countdown, down in the 80's. When I said there was another Dua song on the way there was no question about it if you were following my chart this year that it'd be 'Blow Your Mind', the song gave Dua her highest charting track on my chart, reaching 2 in September.

ANDDDDD here comes the 1st of 7 Summericia entries of the year and surprisingly to many looking at the chart run... it's Vyan's 'Hard to Break that pops up first.. the reason I say surprised is because it spents 3 weeks at #1 and lasted 13 healthy weeks, surely that'd put it higher? Think again, my interest in the song waned a little bit this year and I hadn't actually really gone to hear it much once it left the chart although I do enjoy it again now after not hearing it so often. The song gave me my first qualification to the final in April but finished bottom 5 coming 39th :( still I guess that was good for a pop rock track I guess. It has a big anthemic chorus too however if we're talking of those then 'Invisible' outshadows it and will appear later!

Allie X's best single wasn't 'Sanctuary' nope, just because that won BJSC... 'All The Rage' is her best coming in at 46 on the countdown. The video to this is what I love most, it seems like a lot of fun dressing up as goths :kink:

Time now for another number 1 on my chart to drop out and it comes from the Noughties answer to Michael Jackson in Justin Timberlake, a career that's spawned 14 years as a solo artist. I must say controversially or not that I'm notnormally a huge fan of JT and disliked a lot of his big hits at the start of his career however he's somehow made me a bit of a fan in the last few years since his comeback in 2013, 'Mirror's iirc finished top 30 in my EOY of 2013 and now we head to 2016 where his movie soundtrack hit 'Can't Stop The Feeling' makes 45th best song in my 2016 chart, the film is called Trolls if you haven't been living under a rock :P this actually managed to top my chart in May but didn't hang around long, it's quite enjoyable still though!

Hiya Rob!

I've found JLO pretty rubbish for quite a few years now but I absolutely loved Ain't Your Mama, so fierce and sassy. She definitely still has it, just wish her material was more consistent atm. Into You is defo her best single in years though

JT is a bit hit and miss for me too, in fact I actually really hate Mirrors. CSTF has been one of his best tracks in the years though, just a purely fun pop track and very joyous. Way better than Pharrell's Happy which just made me miserable

Right here's your last dose of eoy action till after Christmas when I 'll reveal the top 40 on the 27th!

In at number 44 we have a second appearance from GODELE *.* 'When We Were Young' was my christmas #1 of 2015 and yeah, was a lovely song and worthy of making it then. The song was also my first #1 crossing over to 2016 as well. She performed this so beautifully at the BRITS but sadly for me Adele does seem to have gone downhill and I say this as a big fan of hers since she burst onto the music scene. I think it's just my interest in her has waned a lot because of the consistent need to release ballad after ballad and whilst her voice is great on them, anyone would understand that it get a bit much sometimes, saying this, she did follow up WWWY with 'Send My Love' which made people react and say 'Finally an UPBEAT song from Adele'... that's still on it's way!

Bastille have been around since 2012 and have in that time became one of the biggest bands around, 'Pompeii' was HUGGGE when it came out and finished inside my top 10 of the 2013 with another track 'Things We Lost...' in the top 40. 'Good Grief' however the first single of their 2nd era manages to miss my top 40. It's a really good song and I always hear it spammed on radio, the chart run and peak was great too but unfortunately there's just so much goodness in my top 40 that it has to settle for 43 which to be frank isn't that bad at all!

My next entry to show up comes form Invader Girl with her pop tune 'Stuck On Me', this gave me another qualfication to the BJSC Final in June and came 37th which was a good position.. although it was getting to the stage that I was nearly ripping my hair out because I wasn't getting out of the bottom 10, this would eventually end in September with a certain 90's star who is still to show up!

Finishing this section off is Ellie Goulding with yes, another ACTUAL :jameela: Movie track. 'Love Me Like You Do' finished 3rd last year for me and well 'Still Fallin For You' is doing just that... fallin... short of the top 40 EOY. I went to see Bridget Jones Baby and it was hilarious, featuring guest appearance from Ed Sheeran!

Hi again Rob

I'm not a huge fan of Adele like everybody else seems to be but I've loved both WWWY and SML(TYNL) loads this era. WWWY is a gorgeous ballad and the lyrics really stand out too, I wish this was her real SMLY moment because that's far too over-rated for me!

Good Grief is now one of my favourite Bastille tracks to date I think, I wasn't expecting them to come back with such a bang and even though the track isn't as loud and exciting as the likes of Pompeii, I still think the chorus is so catchy and Dan's voice is a huge highlight as usual. I think it was my favourite song of the night when I saw them live

BonBon is a nice track, remember singing it in my head a lot when it first came out!

Completely agree on AYM, for some reason I didn't realise Meghan Trainor wrote it :o then again when you listen to the lyrics it makes sense  'Into You' is fantastic!

Blow Your Mind was really catchy when I first heard it, unfortunately I don't get that from it anymore :(

Good Grief is nice as well!

Thanks Pete!

Usually I'd not understand why you aint as big a fan of her but this year has kinda changed that (obviously people do have different opinions regardless) I don't know if it's ever since 'Skyfall' but I just don't seem that big a fan of hers nowadays, it's the ballads that she keeps releasing I think except for SML... I'm surprised ur find that overrated lol. I thought everyone was happy about it making a change in pace of song lol fair enough though. You won't like the fact it's still to appear tho :P
