The track didn't get a push over here which is damn shame as if it was, it could have been a top 5 hit at best :( Margaret also performed this in the Eurovision selection thingy but lost out some nobody (although to be fair it wasn't that bad imo. don't shoot me :teresa: ) anyhow the song stuck around for 26 WEEKS without going to #1 :o and spent 11 non consecutive weeks inside my top 10. I first discovered the song back in early April and had considered it for then but I had already had Vyan secured at the time so it kinda fell by the wayside. Fast forward to August when i finally entered and despite DNQIng picked up a lotta love. It's something that Taahino probably would enter normally and I was banking on it actually going top 30 in the final so DAMN YOU lot. I loved it lots and lots as you can see via it's chart run and topping my chart for 2 weeks, it hadn't even left when my last chart was published. I would say this is closest and most difficult top 2 I've ever had to decided between as they are both really special in their own ways and have both personally been therapeutic to my year in music terms especially 'Faded'. It has sad elements all the way through the song and Iselins vocals are just pure goodness, it gives me goosebumps every time I hear her verses against the music and the song also affected me when I been through severe depression all year (I won't indulge in being attention seeking or self pity or anything as the world has really suffered this year more than anything). It's one of those unusual dance tracks that actually speaks to me, pulls at my heartstrings and has genuine feeling to it. I was so glad it became a hit this year and it spents 6 non consecutive weeks at my #1 in at 3 different times. Blatantly repeating Bieber I think! 'Final Song' is also just as special for me as the lyrics are so poignant about life and the preciousness of everything and I was with MO in every she word she was singing. MO has been one of my favourite artists in the past 3 years and it just shows how much I adore her as an artist when she's really increasing the quality of her songs each time. It easily be my EOY #1 if 'Faded didn't exist tbh for being the song of my summer <3 it's just a beaut but 'Final Song' is just as deserving of #1... it was difficult and MO was actually leading in the last 4 weeks :( up till now both have been chopping n changing. Tears appearing so high is pleasing, one of the best hits of the whole year. Loved Cool Me Down too, seen that in a lot of EOY's despite it not being a big hit anywhere really iirc. The big highlight for me though is The Sound Of Silence :wub: similar with me I rarely Chart rock music but this was just such an incredible cover it was a 3-week #1 for me!
