Stunning little Lucie is back with her new single Last Year (released November 6th) taken from the brand new album The Same Side (released November 13th).

But that's from September and yours didn't have the video, so move on over... :P

Well the video does the song no favours, as much as I love Lucie and her music (or did) this song is wrong for the moment and just not a strong enough return from someone who never had any 'major' success. The song is sadly not very grabbing and the video does the song NO favours at all.

She should have done something more Poppy and upbeat because this is going to bomb....

I think it's a bit bland really, does nothing for me. :(

I hope it grows...

Same here unfortunately -_-

I know David LOVES this, says it all really :(

David actually DOESN'T like this now :o

Really? :o We haven't talked properly in a while, I must admit :(

I'm glad he's getting over his wierd obsessions with bland songs in my abscence though ^_^

Maybe your absense has done him some good

But the song is really dull :( It was only a matter of time before he realised that himself :P

:o Okay actually you're the only people I have spoken to not to be liking this...but maybe that's because I just associate myself with people who like Lucie...

It's a pleasant little song is all, but it hasn't got any bite to it and I don't think it's the right song to launch her album with at all. She co-wrote Who Am I with Eg White for Will, why can't she get something decent to release for herself?
Its a nice enough song but i agree not strong enough to launch an album off ;) i will still buy it cos i love Lucie lol

Maybe yes :P

I did like her first two songs, but this is bland and exactly the sort of thing that'll flop :( Sorry, but it's true.

Same here, I was hopeing for another What You're Made Of....

Thought you might like to read this review friom Ian Hyland NOTW who is an excellent and very funny journalist. This is a review of her gig of the week at Bloomsbury ballroom london.

Quote - she may have had four top ten hits and look like Rachel stevens but until now there has been something a bit low-rent about Lucie - looked at as a cutprice Shania Twain or a Mariah couldnt-care-y by critics. Yes she can sing, but her problem was bellowing her ballads too loudly. part x factor part big issue seller. Now Lucie has calmed down and written pretty ballads - like Last year - that Dusty springfield could have sung. With more songs as gorgeous as sinking in. nobody would moan if Silvas became golden.

I would agree with that review, having seen her in concert in, found her bland with little stage presence.

I was at the gig, personally I thought it was chuffin' fabulous, but that's just my opinion obviously.

And yeah it was 4 top 40 hits, 2 of those being in the top 10.

yeah, it was 2 top 20, 4 top 40 ... it's not entirely accurate

i personally think it's very wise not to go for another WYMO .. if they did that then people would just say "ah, she can only do big ballads and is predictable"

the video suits the song perfectly imo ... it's original, non-produced, and not full of loads of computer trickery just to get a deacent chart position ... its just a good song imo ... and the video is the same ... simple, and suits the song!

I'm just glad no one mentioned the mad guy at the front who kept shouting in their reviews! :P

I thought the song was bland when I first heard it, but its grown on me. I believe Mercury know what they're doing as they did a good job with the last album.

If you go to www.lucie-silvas.net you can hear 5 songs from the new album in full, including the next two tentative singles 'Sinking in' and 'Place to hide'

^ which are better than LY IMO

LY has really grown on me too ... i always LIKED it, but i never loved it like it do now...
