So who do you think will be the Xmas no1 album this year - Little Mix and Michael Ball/Boe seem favourites now but who knows what shoppers will buy in the thousands on Xmas week?!

Ball & Boe have got this I think...been selling consistently every week since it's release. Failing that Little Mix!
The multiple choice wasn't intentional I'm guessing? I've removed that but tell me if that was the intention. I think it's Michael Ball anyway

Yeh it was by mistake, I don't do many topics lol. Thanks!

Undecided between Little Mix and Ball and Boe but I've gone for the latter, as many LM fans will have switched to streaming now whereas I can't imagine many people will be streaming (or downloading) Together at all but its physicals are consistently huge and it's obviously the granny/auntie/parent present of choice.

Pretty crazy that Michael Ball of all people can be in a position to get a Xmas #1 album in 2016 but it's sort of representative of the year as a whole. MOR middle aged artists really rule the roost more than ever in the album chart now.

Has Michael Ball even got any AirPlay on radio 2 or the likes?

As for LM as you were saying GD Glory Days will be a present of choice which could cancel out the fact their support streams mainly now!

I've gone for Little Mix. Possibly selling 105,000 copies in what will be a low selling year. 10 years ago the top 15 all sold over that amount in Christmas week.

Hmmm I don't think Mix fans have 'switched to streaming', they're having some of the biggest physical sales of the year and that's where most of their sales come from.

I didn't really get my point across very well looking back.

I meant that the majority of Ball & Boe's sales will be physical, whereas a lot of Little Mix's fans might not actually really need the album physically as they just don't use CDs/even own a CD player. It will still be a big Xmas gift though of course but maybe not as much as Ball & Boe's, purely because more people are likely to be bought the CD of that album as a Xmas present I guess as none of the fanbase for that album will be streaming it so in that respect it's more of a 'safe' gift. In a similar respect, iTunes gift cards are now becoming a bit redundant for many people because less and less people are downloading.

The big advantage for LM though, and one reason I'm not ruling them out, is the concert DVD on the deluxe version, which is a great gift in itself. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I cannot belive the supermarkets aren't stocking the deluxe, it would fly off the shelves with the DVD..

1 vote for Rolling Stones - could have a chance although their sales will only really dominate this week!

This week has shown that Ball/Boe have eased ahead of the rest consistency wise but will the big XF final promo and other TV shows skew this for the next two weeks!??

What makes you think that? He should be top 5 but it doesn't seem to have the numbers last years one did.

I think the top 5 albums will look more like this next week

1 MB & AB

2 Rolling Stones/ Elvis Presley

3 Little Mix (X Factor performance on Sunday will give the album a boost)

4 Elvis Presley/ Rolling Stones (depends if RS album drops off a fair bit in its second week)

5 Robbie Williams
