Robbie always wears his lyric heart on his sleeve, and just touches me enormously, his gift with words is great and Guy Chambers' melodies heavenly. Robbie needs a slap for not putting it on the album proper, though, unless he has bigger plans for it. Perfectly constructed ballad. The Weeknd still has two top 5 tracks, Coldcut get their 4th top 10, and all the Christmas songs are joined by a new one from ABC, their first, and 7th chart entry this year. 2016 is their best year since 1982 classicness. When they scored a first hit at christmas 1981, just faffing around the lower end of the UK top 75 was a little old minor jolly christmas ditty from The Waitresses, barely even one-minor-hit wonders. Time has been very kind, though, as the song tends to get some annual exposure without ever breaking big. LONG overdue a top 40 visit, we need a campaign to get it there at long last. 14 for me, some 35 years after first cracking my top 40. December 19, 20168 yr Author What are the numbers beside your chart entries? Hi Steve thanks for dropping by - the numbers are chart point "sales". Back in the 70s i got hold of a book which printed the ratio of uk singles chart sales for one week in 1976, the week Abba were on top with Fernando. So I thought it would be fun to use them for my own charts and compile a year end chart. I just kept going :lol: The advantage over a basic 1 to 40 or 75 or 100 points chart point system is it gives a better weighting to tracks you love with passion over ones you like a lot that just hang around a long while. The disadvantage is some tracks get flattered if the tracks going top 3 are due to lack of competition :lol: Cheers john B-)
