I wasn't singling out James Blunt . I just used him as an exampple of how the GBP and media put someone on a pedestal and as soon as he/she gets their round of applause, put all their efforts into knocking that person off. It's one of the most unlovely traits of our media and the sheep lovingly follow.

 

I should think that JB fans who took time to appreciate the lyrics and found that they meant something personal to them would still constantly play his songs, but that's probably a minor percentage of those who bought the singles and albums.

 

I think you're right that some people just buy/download albums because they've been told they're brilliant, are disappointed because in fact they like only half of it on average and just play it on and off until the next one is hyped and so on.. and on

This particular poll just passed me by, so I didn't vote in it - Julie sums up my sentiment generally:

 

If more of us had voted, then he would have been higher than 11th and they would have less fuel for their fire!! :D I can't help myself, if I see D in a poll I have to vote for him just so that people realise he is still around and well thought of (especially on here!! :lol: ) There are more posters on this Board who appreciate Darius than you realise and for some reason just don't like to publicise it in case they are ridiculed by their pals!! Even Graham had to admit that he loved 'Live Twice' So, despite it sometimes falling on 'deaf ears', I will always 'fly the forum flag'!! :dance:

I've just been to look at the thread in the PopForum and I remember voting in a reality tv star rate thing ages ago, so it was probably this one - but I don't remember seeing that write up then though, I think that's what made me think it was a different thing.
