Sun Records, itself, was launched in 1952. The first recording session as Sun, was on 25th February 1952 when Jackie Boy and Walter recorded 'Blues In My Condition' and 'Sellin' My Whiskey', but this, the first Sun Record, number 174, was never issued because Sam didn't think it was strong enough after receiving negative feedback :o

This is a total guess, Brian, but the only EP I can think of from that year was Elvis By Request and the title track was Flaming Star, but I don't know if it was 33rpm :blink:

It was caught by Bruce Spinks who was the sportswriter on the Honolulu Advertiser newspaper. The cape is now at Graceland Bruce Spinks sold it to a guy called Andrew Kern, a collector, and when he died in 1995, his parents donated it to EPE/Graceland in his memory :D
