Yeah Swish Swish isn't selling THAT much now, so even if airplay doesn't give it that boost in sales, the video will enough to take it off ACR, it'll also probably go back to 59p at some point.

 

 

I do worry about the Hot Hits UK thing though, does anyone remember a song being re-addded? I'm not sure what the point of adding it so early was in the first place when it's impact dates are August.

Nick Grimshaw has got a very good reason to smile today – his Radio 1 breakfast show has bounced back in the ratings!

 

Yep, after slumping to pretty much his lowest ratings yet earlier this year (and Radio 1's worst since the RAJAR system was introduced in 1999, ahem), Grimmy's weekly listenership has gone up from 5.14m to 5.49m.

 

In fact, the show is now slightly bigger than it was this time last year when it reached 5.43m.

 

The station itself is also on the up after struggling last time out. Now, 9.58m listen to Radio 1 each week – an increase of nearly half a million from back in May – although it's only a relatively small rise on the 9.50m who listened a year ago.

 

Still, Bob Shennan – director of BBC Radio and Music – is obviously delighted.

 

"Hats off to all at Radio 1," he said. "Their half a million gain is a real boost and owes much to the hard work all the teams have put in to making the listening experience better than ever."
