Yes! It definitely triumphs 'Am I Wrong?' which felt quite tired very quickly. I forget that 'I Wanna Know' wasn't a hit for Alesso; he just seemed to become near-irrelevant after 'Heroes' was such a big success.

Looking at what 2016's pop landscape would have to offer, Britney's return to music was the comeback I was most looking forward to. Despite the misstep of Britney Jean, Britney has always delivered the goods when it comes to her lead singles, so I was confident in this standard holding up. This time around, she took the opportunity to play things slightly less safe and introduce a new style and sound; something that hadn't really been done to such an extent since 'I'm a Slave 4 U'. Instead of instant, catchy beats that guarantee the listener their new favourite club jam, 'Make Me...' is more slow-burning and moody. The licks of guitar and echoing synths supply the perfect backdrop to allow Britney's vocals to take centre stage as she relishes in the single life, enjoying the chance to embrace and explore her sexuality. The tempo quickens with the clapping pre-chorus before erupting into a series of euphoric "oohs" - in theory, it may not seem overly imaginative but, when you consider the subtlety of the song, it's a tremendously effective climax. As the song progresses, any doubt of this holding its own against other lead singles is soon eradicated. It's a smart, creative step forward; it's current without being uninspiring; it's sexy without being embarrassing - even the 'rent-a-rapper' feature of G-Eazy suits, providing a rough-meets-soft friction that gives the song that extra layer and builds the momentum for the final explosive chorus. Naturally, I was dying to hear what the rest of the album would have to offer.

I have to confess, when 'Cheap Thrills' was originally made available as a promo single, I wasn't all too keen. It wasn't bad, but it didn't excite me in the way Sia music usually does and I didn't think the "party girl living for the weekend" vibe really suited what Sia was about. I warmed to the song more come the album release, but news of it becoming the next single didn't quite fill me with joy, although I was expecting this announcement. I can, however, pinpoint the moment I really found myself clicking with 'Cheap Thrills'. It was played in a club, back when it hadn't taken off into the mega hit it would become, so everyone was just bopping along and murmuring the words they could figure out - all except me, that was. Perhaps a part of me was a little smug that I already knew all the words to it, but the club environment with the speakers loud and the freedom to lose oneself in the music really allowed the song to resonate with me. Its bouncy, almost reggae-infused melody is very simple but has the power to work its way through your body and the lyrics are begging to be sang along to, allowing the depiction of weekend nights out to become a reality. It may not be typical Sia, but she's already told us "this is acting" and to simply reject it would be depriving yourself from one of 2016's most inclusive, empowering club anthems.

It used to be in my bottom three (which really isn't as bad as it sounds, as I liked all the album) but it definitely rose quite considerably in my estimations when it was a single. Always a joy to hear on a night out - always takes me back to when it was released and the likes of 'Work', '7 Years', 'I Took a Pill in Ibiza' and 'One Dance' first became club staples.
