Back on Trump:

Have I told this true little anecdote?

My quizzing friends went to las Vegas during the election campaign and bought me a holiday gift: a Donald Trump pen, selling everywhere to help finance his campaign.

A bit tacky, too thick and a bit unwieldy, couldn't write properly and was useless in a quiz involving general or specialist knowledge. So was his pen.

Tramp tweets: I'm thinking of withdrawing from Syria.

Syrian: murder the children quick and finish it off, Tramp is bored with it!

Tramp: How very dare you, I swear Israel will do something about it. I blame Obama for the mess. Still at least my Tower didn't burn to the ground. See, I told you sprinklers weren't needed. Fake news! That delay of a year I gave to Putin on sanctions worked SO well, too. Vlad is very pleased I gave him a year to move all his cash so I can afford one slightly critical tweet. What's for breakfast, burp....

Looking forward to that one....

....and the FBI raid the offices of Trump's lawyer, the one who paid off (allegedly) a porn star and texted a friend that he should stay out of the building while they were burning evidence.

He previously threatened Hillary Clinton with jail. Life's funny like that....

Was it a purposeful fire?

It was a metaphorical fire, I'm guessing. The actual fire was in Trump Tower, the one with no safety sprinklers, the one Trump tweeted about by thanking the "firemen (and women!)" and complimented himself on the construction of the building for the fire not spreading. I had no idea he knew how to personally deal with huge erections!

The death of the man didn't even enter his tiny rodent-like brain.

I suspect if he *had* commented on it, he'd then be accused of shedding crocodile tears...

your stock answer to everyone who shows conclusively they have no ability to empathise. Try to turn the inhumanity into a false accusation against people you don't agree with.

Trump didnt say that because the deaths of people means nothing to him, witness his statement following 9/11 when he also took that opportunity to brag about his building now being the highest in New York. Or was THAT just him avoiding offering sympathies just to avoid crocodile tears accusations.

Things you say, honestly.....

Incorrect assessment of me, as usual - I was just pointing out that all politicians face a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situation.

No it isn't. It's a slagging off of anyone you disagree with, not for a second giving us credit for having enough generosity of spirit to him hypothetically making a caring decent statement for once in his life.

You, as always, rush to defend the indefensible as if it's your own personal tweet with your own personal opinion (omitting of course your own opinion entirely while doing it, wouldnt do making your own position clear just to give you enough squirm room to avoid accusations of supporting indefensible viewpoints which people presume is the case on the grounds that you never criticise Trump on anything ever even when "contributing" to discussions about that exact thing).

Meanwhile today's Trump-developments:

Paul Ryan is retiring aged 48, I believe it's because he feels he couldnt quite achieve his stated aim of killing as many poor Americans as possible by removing Healthcare support.

I may be wrong, there, but I'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with the ongoing Mueller investigation, nor that he is so hated he has no chance of holding his seat come November, nor that he's a cold, clinical robot who needs a good servicing. And def nothing to do with Trump threatening to fire everyone investigating him as the shit hits the fan.

Trump has been tweeting his BFF about how he's getting ready to get his mates to beat him up in Syria. Because every world leader there has ever been tells someone they plan to bomb when and where they are going to do it. It's standard practice. Vlad def doesn't have anything on Trump at all, I think we can be sure about that.

Facebook kiddie nerd testifies to the Old Blokes that his advertising pages info that was probs stolen by a work partner he trusted was poss def sold to Cambridge Anal Lickita who probs sold it to a Russian data harvesting company so's they could get Trump elected.

FBI investigating links to Trump now, and Trump tweets daily about how unfair it is that he can't do whatever he wants and it's a totes Witch Hunt. At least I think he said "hunt".

Boy-survivor of fatal shooting who got nasty old media spreader (of lies) suspended and advertisers dropping the ol dear just by pointing out she's a bit of a lying twat attacking kids for having an opinion about not being murdered, goes back to work and compares him to mass-murderer Stalin, insomanywords. I think we can all agree that kids who slag off commercial advertisers for financially supporting murder weapons are def comparable to mass-murders. PS he's also gunning (figuratively) for Trump and the Republicans who have also slagged him off any nasty way they can.

NRA admits it's accepted money from Russian companies. Eh? Why would Russian companies be into promoting firearms in America, other than shit-stirring in politics....?

Porn Star still likely to get a day in court with the President over him appearing to have lied through the teeth about trying to hide the truth during the campaign.

And finally, phew, big news day, James Comey has an interview where he compares Trump to a Mob Boss, or as Trump is so fond of pussies, as I like to call him Boss Cat. The most ineffectual Boss Cat. Whose close friends like to call him DT, probiding it's with some titty...

I think that was the lyric, but I may have misremembered...

Novel to be concluded tomorrow no doubt, unless it's a quiet day in the ongoing drama that is The People vs The Liar.

You forgot his second toilet tweet an hour later when he asked why we can't all just get along and to stop the arms race. This was after his first tweet telling them to get ready for his advanced missiles.

Also you are absolutely right about Viecapper.

I assume the first part referred to Trump, as I do not 'slag off' people simply because I disagree with them.

Well, you don't seem to consider my opinion necessary when pre-judging me, so why ask for it?

Also you are absolutely right about Viecapper.

Yes, how dare someone refuse to worship at the altar of political correctness...

Seriously though, this forum's main misunderstanding of me is to assume that 'politically incorrect' inevitably = racism/bigotry/xenophobia.

The reality however is that I simply resist *imposed* morality - you cannot force someone to change their views, that can only come through education & experience - any attempt to short-cut that simply generates resentment & resistance.

No, you do it in a sly backhanded way that allows you to appear as though you arent doing it.

Still waiting for you to criticise Trump on any issue. If you don't agree with statements then say so. If all you've got is Victor Meldrew moaning and sniding about people who ARE commenting on powerful politicians who are doing huge damage to people and society, and pointing out their hypocrisy, and giving Trump an "excuse" for being a total arsehole in the process as if anything we say is the reason he is an arsehole is just ludicrous. Stop making excuses for him and for your "devil's advocate" comments. Have an opinion or shut up and say nothing.

That sounds like you are claiming I am being Passive Aggressive?

You're gotta be kidding? I express opinions here *all the time* - if I did not, you'd having nothing to get upset with me about!

It's certainly not true that I agree with him on everything - his policy of scapegoating minorities is pure fascism - but OTOH I do not condemn his every action out-of-hand either. For example, the US economy doesn't seem to be doing too badly during his presidency.

Thanks to Obama, if you are talking economically. It takes a year or two or three to filter through, both pro and con. Passive aggressive nothing of the sort, I said you were deliberately woolly and vague in order to annoy, more or less. You express opinions all the time on some issues, and leave it vague (but still comment) in others.

let's pretend I am you....

"But Trump just says those things because he is so fed up at being attacked and he would just get slagged off at being insincere if he did"

That isn't me saying his policy is wrong, it is me saying he's only saying those awful things because he's SO upset about people not giving him credit for all the woenderful things he has done that he just say horrible things.

The man who is "leader of the free world" immensely rich, and has sworn he would do horrible things to immigrants in his campaign, done horrible things in his presidency to immigrants, and made fun of a disabled person on the world stage, called Clinton a crook, and bent over backwards for Putin actually edits his opinions based on what non-supporters think and say? Give me a break. He thinks it he says it, with no consideration of consequences whatsoever.

Now do you get what I am saying?

I never *set out* to annoy, whether through expressing opinions, or withholding them.

I am someone who always prefers compromise to conflict - but where no compromise looks possible, e.g. iro Brexit, or dealing with criminals, I would much rather agree to differ, than endlessly reiterate our own positions to no avail. What you regard as 'woolly & vague' should be seen as my attempt to say 'I don't wish to discuss this any more', expressed in a non-aggressive manner.

Regards,

I'm still hoping Trump is so crazy that he outdoes even Un's crazy and that it leads to peace talks and denuclearisation. Stranger things have happened, and for the first time (ever?) there are going to be direct talks!

If t5hat happens and Bernie gets 2020, it'll have all been for the best.
