Posted February 8, 20178 yr Blind Date is set to come back on Channel 5 after more than 13 years off air. The original was hosted by the late Cilla Black. What do you make of this? Personally, I think it should be left alone. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic...exy-reboot.html
February 11, 20178 yr I thought it was good that they were finally bringing it back... until I saw it was Channel 5. It'll just be a big mess, especially if the rumours are true that Vicky Pattison is presenting it. That also means it'll probably me all youth orientated and so all the contestants will be the usual muscle men and fake women. It'll be one series and done.
February 11, 20178 yr When I think of a potential Blind Date revival, I automatically think of Davina/Holly on ITV - NOT VICKY PATTISON ON CHANNEL 5. God are they being serious? :puke2:
February 16, 20178 yr Paddy McGuinness' show Take me Out is the modern version of blind date, the original concept is old fashioned!
February 17, 20178 yr I loved the original, but would never watch a remake regardless of who hosted it blind date could only be done by cilla

March 3, 20178 yr Author The new version of this will feature LGBT contestants for the first time ever. That's good to see.
March 16, 20178 yr Cilla's close friend Paul O'Grady will be hosting. He makes for a perfect choice I think, it especially looks hopefully that it will be looking for a variety of ages rather than fake early 20s wannabes that I thought it would be when Vicky Pattison was the front runner.
March 16, 20178 yr I love Paul but I'd still have much more confidence in this if it was an ITV thing.
April 18, 20178 yr Paul said he agreed to present because he was scared another reality TV person would present it (*cough* Vicky Pattison) and it wiuld be bumped to a late night slot. He also says: We're going to take Blind Date back to its roots. A gentle, funny show," he noted. "I told Channel 5 I don't want any of the TOWIE lot or contestants that have been on telly before, there's too much of that on TV now and I'm not interested." Thank God for that, Paul is my new hero! I probably won't be watching but I was thinking the show was going to become exactly what he says he was scared it was going to be. I'm sick of all the TOWIE/MTV esque people, who devote all their time to their looks, who are all friends with each other appearing all over these types of shows. Glad Paul is steering it in the direction it should go in!
June 13, 20178 yr Author Really not too sure what to think of this. Might work with Paul, still think it should have been left alone.
June 16, 20178 yr Author I got an horrible feeling, crudeness could be an feature despite the time it's on.
June 16, 20178 yr I got an horrible feeling, crudeness could be an feature despite the time it's on. Judging from the previews, I'd say it's looking pretty likely which is a massive shame but typical of Channel f***ing 5
July 2, 20177 yr Author Saw the episode, not really a patch on the original as suspected, it would be. Not a fan of it, sorry.
July 2, 20177 yr Could only make it half way through the first episode. The constant smutty innuendos were awful and it didn't even have half of the charm the original had.
