U2 unveil name of new album

Source: Music Week

U2 have revealed the name and release date of their forthcoming best of compilation, the release of which will see them parting company with Island records for the first time.

U218 Singles will hit shelves on November 20 on the Vertigo label (home to Razorlight, The Killers and The Rapture), putting it head to head against Oasis’ career spanning album, Stop The Clocks, which interestingly also features 18 songs.

In addition to 16 U2 hits, the album will feature two new Rick Rubin-produced songs including their Skids collaboration with Green Day, entitled The Saints Are Coming. All proceeds from the song, which is set for a commercial release on November 6th, will go to Hurricane Katrina charity Music Rising.

U218 Singles will be released with a bonus live CD featuring ten songs from their 2005 Vertigo tour in Milan.

How exciting about the live CD but only 10 songs :(

Good title also

Can't wait for the new songs but Oasis will outsell them and so they should imo ^_^

No way :arrr: :arrr:

Yes, unlike U2 Oasis don't want to do a cash in just for money, this is their first GH is their 12 year carear and It will definatly outsell U2. They are my 2 all time favourite bands but U2 are pushing it by releasing ANOTHER GH <_<
