Thought I'd make a 'lil thread for this - there's a track from Ed Sheeran's upcoming album "/" out on Friday called "How Would You Feel (Paean)"! I'm not sure if this is a grat or not (someone please confirm), but where do we think this'll debut officially?

 

Obviously we haven't heard the track as of yet, but there's definitely going to be some hype around the song and just HOW much hype do you think there'll be, and where will it debut on Spotify?

I put top 5, coz instant grats rarely ever tend to do too well if you have a massive hit at the time. But, I think Ed will definitely be top 5 in both. As to how high? I don't know. #1 isn't impossible by any means! I just don't know where inside the top 5. So I played it "safe"! :lol:

#1 if it's the next single and gets an instant radio push.

Good shout! He might perform it at the BRIT's, surely that'd be instant #1?

If anyone would get just an instant grat that isn't even a single to #1 it's Ed Sheeran :lol: If it does sound really album-y I agree it might "only" make like #4 and depending on what he performs at the BRITs, it will probably block, but if he performs this I don't see why it wouldn't be a #1, especially if it's particularly commercial sounding. Even if it's a quite disappointing sounding song though top 5 is on lock, the hype around him atm is insane.

I'm finding this really tough to predict actually. Sure, it's Ed Sheeran, it's bound to be top 10 at least, but remember some people will be receiving it as an instant grat having pre-ordered the album, so that's fewer sales than he'd get if he released it as a standalone single I think. Having said that, his streaming will be huge of course. Really not sure what to expect from its chart performance!

Yeah, if it's released as a grat, it won't climb as fast as his other two did because loads of people will get the song from auto-downloads. I think it'll probably be #1 because of streaming though.

Streaming will most likely propel this to #1 if the two singles to date are anything to go by. It'll most certainly be top of Spotify's New Music Friday playlist guaranteeing it huge numbers.

If it's an instant grat I would imagine it will probably manage #4 overall (behind Ed x2 and Human).

Seeing as it's just an instant grat it probably won't be going to #1.

 

Could see an Ed 1-2-3 happening though, with 'Castle' potentially going to #1 from the BRITS performance and this new one entering at #3.

Well it's leaked and it's a soppy Thinking Out Loud ballad so I expect #1 for 285 weeks :rolleyes:
