February 22, 20178 yr Author I know it's a bit odd that Suicide Squad is Oscar nominated but you can't really deny that the make-up in that film was phenomenal, just look at Harley Quinn and The Joker! I imagine Star Trek will probably win it as the well-known and well-reviewed film out of the three nominees. On a side note, isn't it weird that this is the only category still with only three nominees, there were so many other great pieces of work in films like Jackie, Deadpool, Florence Foster Jenkins etc. that all could have been nominated here too! For costume design, surely Jackie is going to win, she managed to recreate some really iconic outfits and all of them looked fantastic. Marion Cotillard looked flawless in all of her Allied scenes too though so wouldn't be too displeased if that won. I'm hoping this isn't yet another award La La Land is going to win just because it's La La Land because they basically just wore normal clothes with minimal effort put into the majority of the costumes, not even sure why it's nominated here? :lol:
February 22, 20178 yr Suicide Squad for the make-up. It was ON POINT. I sound like a broken record but Noctirnal Animals needed a nom for costume.
