We didn't do too well in the last round - achieving 12th out of 14 places - but I suspect our chances will improve dramatically with the next: Greatest Hits. This is a chance to look through Madonna's discography and pick out the most defining, most loved, most iconic of hits. The contest will take place a little further down the line, so we're in no rush to decide, but use this thread to put forward potential entries and talk about why we love them so much.

I must also add that, because we've used it before, 'Frozen' is ineligible.

 

My personal Top 5 picks would probably be:

 

Papa Don't Preach

Like a Prayer

Vogue

Ray of Light

Hung Up

 

All have huge followings from both fans and non-fans alike, reaching the Top 10 in previous Madonna Single Rates and whatnot, as well as being among my personal favourites. 'Like a Prayer' would probably be the top option, given it is usually #1 on countdowns, like the aforementioned Singles Rate, and seems to be one that is liked by all people. As much as it pains me to say it, 'Hung Up' does have it's haters amongst it lovers, so could possibly be a risky choice to put forward.

I think it has to be Like A Prayer, no other option. Not my favourite of her HUGE hits but its impact and adoration is undeniable. Gets my full support.

I mean if we're being totally honest it's only going to be Like A Prayer, Vogue or Hung Up. The former two are iconic and Hung Up is very special to a lot of people on here/in this forum. I'd prefer one of the latter as Like A Prayer is quite overrated, but so long as it isn't the Immaculate mix ABOMINATION we could do a whole lot worse.

Like a Prayer or Hung Up for sure. Vogue is iconic / great, but it doesn't FULLY click with me in the same way.

I'd opt for Like A Prayer over Hung Up - firstly as the former is her best track for me but, while I can see definite arguments for the latter as a choice, would Hung Up stand out as much among the things the other sections will send?

It's a tricky one between Hung Up and Like A Prayer.. I think a HUGE POLL TO THE DEATH between the two will be needed and I literally could not call which way it would go :drama:

It feels like 'Hung Up' has a lot of die hard fans and a handful of haters whereas 'Like a Prayer' is loved by all, just not as many vocal die hard fans, not in the same way as 'Hung Up' at least.
