Pretty good overall but on first listen it's not as brilliant as Badlands.

• The Prologue: cute ^_^ not really into the robotic voice bit tho lmao
• 100 Letters: This one's probably my second favourite, it all comes together very well :wub:
• Heaven In Hiding: It's great and also it reminds me of Kygo's Stole The Show in the prechorus vocally
• Alone: Loving her vocals in this one! Flows well
• Now Or Never: Only heard this once or twice oops but it's a bit dull and I prefer most of the other tracks
• Sorry: Yesss another piano heavy song I always seem to love these days
• Good Mourning: Good sample but repetitive and novelty
• Walls Could Talk: This takes me back to retro rnb :D
• Bad At Love: One of the stronger ones on the album, reminds me of Badlands in parts
• Strangers: Still think this is my fave :music:
• Also liking Devil In Me and Don't Play; Hopeless, and Angel On Fire sound like future growers for me tbh

Anyone half expect 'Don't Play' to suddenly turn into 'Under the Sea' from The Little Mermaid? :lol:

Finally got to listening to this and I'm FLOORED. Sure it's more mainstream and an amalgamation of a bunch of different artists but then again this is her sophomore album and she has the right to experiment with her sound a bit. There's still a bit of a Halsey touch despite most of this album sounding like ANTi part deux.

 

Unpopular Buzzjack Opinion: STRANGERS TO BE A SINGLE ASAP. I don't care if it's Something In The Way You Move avec lesbian romance but STILL IT'S SO f***ING GOOD

 

interesting to note that some BJSC vets have co-produced this album: Josh from Phantogram worked on "Alone" (which makes sense because a lot of it sounds like "Fall In Love"), and Lido (from "So Cold" fame) worked on half of this album! + Cashmere Cat-produced Eyes Closed and Hopeless :D

Lido works with Halsey a lot, pretty sure he even sings a bit at one point in Badlands (i wanna say drive but Icr), I think they dated for a while too

it's only a promo single/instant grat, it hasn't been pushed yet but it should + Now Or Never hasn't peaked in the US yet

This is such a great album. So many hits on it, just a shame that they've not had a push in the UK. "Bad at Love" is the next single, video coming tomorrow!

I'm here for her doing all these big live performances tbh, she clearly gets nervous af about singing for cameras etc so has had quite a few shaky vocal performances but that SNL performance was great! It sounded like she had a sore throat or was Ill but she still killed it *.* She gets a lot of shit for her live performances so I'm glad she's now starting to prove people wrong.

I think at the moment she's just having fun and making the most of this era, which is great for any artist to do. Between the success of the era as a whole and her relationship with G-Eazy, I'm so proud of her and how she's flourishing.

"Sorry" is presumably the next single, although "Bad at Love" has only just peaked at #5 in the US so I wouldn't expect it to make an impact until at least July 😶 Please "Strangers" next though x

Sorry is one of the best from her album but it is not single material, it feels so off watching that style of music video when it's a piano ballad, if she was gonna release a video for it it really shoulda been more natural like her sat at a piano maybe with cut always to the parts of the story she wants to illustrate. Strangers is such an obvious smash or even 100 letters or Heaven in Hiding, wtf is she doing

Sorry... great choice!!! Hopefully it's Strangers next (seeing that live was an experience and a half) and then if there is a 5th single (which I very much doubt) I'd go with Lie and move onto the next album! I'm pleased with the Sorry video, a bit too simple for me but hopefully it'll do the trick once the Bad at Love hype dies down in the US.

A music video for "Strangers" is coming on Thursday!!! Finally!!! Probably won't be a single for now as "Alone" is still doing things in the US but hopefully it makes way for this to become a smash afterwards.

My friend from another forum recently introduced me to Walls Could Talk and I really like it :D
