Posted October 11, 200618 yr A Portuguese version of Rogers & Hammerstein musical "The Sound Of Music" premiered in Lisbon last Saturday. The lead role of Maria von Trapp wil be rotatively played by two singers who represented Portugal in the ESC: Anabela, who came in 10th in ESC1993 with "A Cidade Até Ser Dia" and Lúcia Moniz, who got Portugal's best ESC result to date by being 6th in 1996. Anabela has been very active in stage musicals for quite a while. She played Eliza Dolittle at a Lisbon play of "My Fair Lady" in 2003/4. Lúcia Moniz, who starred in "Love Actually" returns to acting after a few years focusing in her musical career. It's her first role in a stage musical but she has various roles in soap-operas and TV movies to her belt.
