Posted October 11, 200618 yr Arctics send album mate to Vodafone Live Awards The Arctic Monkeys are snubbing the Vodafone Live Music Awards on Wednesday night. The Sheffield lads are nominated for three awards: XFM Live Breakthrough Act, Tour Of The Year and Vodafone Live Impact In 2006. But instead of going down themselves, they are sending Chris McClure, the disheveled smoker who starred on the cover of their debut album (pic) Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. A source close to the band told The Sun: "The boys will always thank Chris for not cashing in on his appearance on the sleeve. "They reckon he's the perfect man to pick up their awards in future due to his general couldn't-care-less attitude." It's the first year for the Vodafone Live Music Awards, which are held at London's Roundhouse in Camden. Acts like Girls Aloud, Dirty Pretty Things, My Chemical Romance, Razorlight, and James Morrisson are expected to perform at the event which wlll be hosted by Chris Moyles.
