Ranking

1 Room

2 Mad Max: Fury Road

3 Brooklyn

4 The Martian

5 Spotlight

6 Bridge of Spies

7 The Revenant

8 The Big Short

I liked all of the top 5 a lot and the other two weren't too bad, just a little on the boring side. The Big Short was dreadful though. I'm glad Spotlight was the winner out of the front-runners too as it definitely packed the most powerful punch of the likely winners.

Carol really was a huge snub though, it would be right up there with Room/Mad Max and is way better than some of these films. I can't believe that in the history books, it won't be recognised as a Best Picture nominee, even with the inflated number of nominees!! :( I would have also liked Inside Out and Straight Outta Compton to make the cut but that was much less likely.

've only sene The Martian, but plan to see Spotlight and Room very soon.

Perfection:

1. Brooklyn

Basically perfection:

2. Room

Fantastic:

3. Bridge Of Spies

4. Mad Max: Fury Road

Good but a bit overrated:

5. The Martian

6. Spotlight

f***ing horrendous:

7. The Big Short

Even worse than f***ing horrendous:

8. The Revenant

Pretty weak line-up tbh! The bottom 4 would all be last in my rankings for best picture if they were released this year and most would be bottom half tbh :(

Obviously Brooklyn is my face but the nom was the win for that tbh! Same with Room even if that had a slightly bigger chance! Both so good <3

Would have loved Carol and Inside Out to score nominations of the realistic contenders!

I wasn't the biggest fan of Spotlight (a good film but something felt a bit slow to me) but I was DELIGHTED when it won as those other 2 front runners should have never have been anywhere near close to winning! 2 of my least favourite best picture nominees ever!
