Posted October 11, 200618 yr from chartsingles.net and dont blame me :P Steps Consider A Comeback According to Upper Steet reject Lee Latchford-Evans his former band Steps are considering making a comeback. Speaking to MTV Lee said: "You shouldn't rule out a Steps comeback. I know Five are doing it, and we were the biggest pop act in the UK at the time, so why not. "I'm not sure about a new career and new albums, but as for a tour or whatever, why not? I don't think any of us would rule it out but it'd have to be right time. I'd love to do some of it as Steps was then and some of it as Steps moving on. Like an acoustic version of Steps or whatever." Oh ffs, this is getting silly now, All Saints (was cool), Take That (fair enough, theres a fanbase  ) but now Steps, S Club 7, Five.......how many more of them will creep out of their black holes before the year is out :arrr: ;) <_< They cant all be desperate for money!!!!
October 11, 200618 yr Not a fan of them, but I wish they'd all come back and put pop music back on the map.
October 11, 200618 yr No, its great to see all old bands coming back, i dont get why people get so bothered about it
October 11, 200618 yr I wouldn't mind Steps and the Spice Girls coming back, but there are many bands that are better off not coming back :P
October 11, 200618 yr Yayyyyyyyyy. I seriously think it's annoying they're all jumping on the bandwagon - but there doesn't seem to be any new pop bands breaking through at the minute does there? Pop music is dying and what better way to bring it back up than to get all the oldies back - whether you like them or not - they are POP. I just hope if they all do comeback they can atleast move their style a little bit - something I can never see Steps doing. S Club 7 I think could very well - just check out their flop 6 piece album 'Seeing Double'. Some very mature songs on there with a different edge to their previous 'bubblegum' pop stuff.
October 11, 200618 yr Yes, totally fed up of it, just a pathetic attempt to relive their glory when none of them can make it as solo acts, lame.... Full marks to Robbie Williams for knocking back the Take That revival... Pop acts are supposed to be transitory and ephemeral, it's the very nature of pop music, once it's gone it should stay gone, in Pop, the old should make way for the new. If you want longevity, Rock or Metal is your genre...

I just hope if they all do comeback they can atleast move their style a little bit - something I can never see Steps doing. There most certainly ARE Pop acts breaking through at the moment, the trouble is that the music press and their marketing people keep on insisting that they're "Indie" (Kaiser Chiefs, Keane, Coldplay, etc) or "Alternative" (My Chemical Romance, The Rasmus, etc) or "Dance" (Infernal, Gina G, Dannii Minogue, Madonna, etc..)... Christ with the sheer level of misinformation and obfuscation going on, is it any wonder that people dont think actual Pop(ular) music actually exists anymore....? What about the likes of Lily Allen, Sandi Thom, James Blunt, etc, etc.. That aint Pop..??? Of course it is.... Why the fukk do people insist that 'Pop' automatically means Boybands, Girlbands and manufactured crud at the exclusion of just about everything else...? When it it's always been sooooooo much more....?
October 11, 200618 yr That should be good. They were massive, over 16 million records sold. If they could come back and even half the old fanbase supported them they'd do very well.
October 12, 200618 yr Yes! And bring back Pop! too :cheer: Isn't Clare like hippo-sized now, though?
October 12, 200618 yr Pop! Now THERE are some memories  Personally I find it all a little false, they're only in it to make money. Steps never could sing anyway so I wonder how they are going to engineer things this time, there's a lot less miming about these days...
October 13, 200618 yr yes i am god dam sick of it...'take that' is a perfect example they are has beens and should never have reformed, plus without robbie it isnt even a true come back boybands should be young males not mid-thirty's weirdos  IMO
