Chart Contender Of The Week #4: ZAYN f/PARTYNEXTDOOR - "Still Got Time"

 

 

Zayn attempts to catapult himself back onto the chart with a Drake reject, featuring someone who would most likely appear on a Drake single. Now, I know "One Dance" was one of the biggest hits of the year by isn't it a but of overkill?

ZAYN is no stranger to making overtly sexual songs, so him making a song for Fifty Shades Darker which is basically softcore porn in a novel was just fitting. This doesn't seem so sexual though. Add in Taylor Swift and you got yourself a powerful soundtrack song.

I look at Calvin Harris and I see how fast he's been putting out singles and I think, "are you sure you don't want to release an album?" This dude is gunning for a more throwback R&B style now, which seems to be working.

For those of you who thought Jay Sean had vanished off the face of the earth, fear no more - this two hit wonder is still here making songs. His collab with Hardwell is making waves on the dance charts (although not necessarily in the right places), and it lands here at #15.

And our highest BJSC entry on the charts this week goes to Polish DJ Gromee with his latest single "Spirit", fresh off of an underwhelming performance last month. It's still taking off greatly so there's still momentum.

8.) Ariana Grande f/Futute - "Everyday"

4th Single, Dangerous Woman

Last year, Ariana's highest entry on the chart was just coming off of #1 and kicked off the explosive Dangerous Woman era. Now this song has peaked and the era seems to be drawing to a close. All eyes are on Ari for the next move.

7.) Big Sean - "Bounce Back"

And we have a surprise contender the last chart contender of the week! Many remember Max from his single "Gibberish" which charted two years ago and he's stirring a bit of discussion with his latest single Lights Down Low. The Two Friends remix is in contention.
