Hmmm, I wonder, if Sting manages to shift several million copies of his lute-music, can we expect a bit of 'hey nonny, nonny' from Gaz perchance....???

I'm loving this news. I can't wait to see the documentary and for Gareth's new album. :cheer:

This thread just proves how right 19 were to let Gareth keep a low profile in the last few years. There was obviously no danger of people forgetting who he was.

That article is hilarious. Are we to believe that Gareth has spent the last two and a half years writing for this album (we'll gloss over the songs he wrote on previous albums), just so he can be compared with this year's hot new favourite, Paulo Nutini? I didn't even realise that Paulo and this year's other break-through artists were considered to be the country's leading singer-songwriters. Poor Elton.

It also seems to say that Gareth took up the guitar at the age of 9 just so in years to come someone could write an article to say that he was forming a guitar band to be just like McFly. Never mind that Gareth didn't ever form that guitar band - it seems to be quite a good angle for a story, so may as well keep it in. Shame they couldn't find a way to incorporate the rumours (also denied) that Gareth was doing a classical album, or an album of gospel music (oops, another mistake the papers made).

Oh yes, and Gareth 'copied' Justin. Most reviewers (and fans) felt that the album's influences could be found in Gareth's childhood musical heroes, such as George Michael, and Michael Jackson, but I suppose Gareth saying that he 'liked the new Justin album' was good enough reason for The Sun to say he was copying and if it's good enough for The Sun, it's good enough for a witty editorial. Unfortunately it did rather clash with the theory that Gareth's second album was filled with cover version ballads, but The Sun knows it's target audience is stupid, so has never worried about their own audience spotting their inconsistencies, so I don't see why Hecklerspray should worry about it either.

You know, it's days like today that make me all nostalgic for the school playground. :yahoo:

Goodness there are a lot of people ready to put the boot in here, before they've ever heard one word spoken or one note sung. I wonder why :yahoo:

Go show them Gaz

I don't think its right to call it a comeback in Gareth's case. He has never at any time said he was not making more music. He has just taken a couple of years out to get his speech up to scratch and write his own music. Quite different don't you think.
