Bienvenue Buzzjack! We're well into the off season for the Eurovision fanatic and in an effort to combat the dreaded PED, we are about to journey on 15 weeks of total Eurovish bliss! It's been 10 years (!) since the two semi final system was introduced and it's also a time period a lot of us are familiar with (education on older contests WILL happen at a later date) so there's NO EXCUSE to not get involved!

Here's how it'll work, for the next 10 weeks we'll be visiting each of the 47 countries to have submitted at least one entry in the aforementioned time period, to produce a shortlist of 100 of the best ESC songs from the past decade, before whittling those down to a Grand Final of 40 songs. This is a great chance for some of the Eurovish fans to have joined us in the past couple of years to begin venturing into the back catalogue of simply brilliant europop, ethnic ballads and the complete discography of Valentina Monetta.

This week, we're kicking things off with 4 of the strongest countries from the decade (in fact only 6 of the 40 songs here failed to qualify for the final): Azerbaijan, Greece, Israel and Sweden!

VOTING

Voting will be done in the traditional manner of 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point(s). When we reach countries which have less than 10 entries, the number of points will simply reduce accordingly. You must rank each set of entries from the different countries separately. Do not send one ranking with a mixture of all 4 countries. Votes for this heat can be sent via PM to myself before 23:59 Saturday 24th June 2017. The results will be presented the following evening. The top 2 songs from each country will progress to the next round, as well as the next 2 highest ranked entries from across the 4 countries. This will be the way of voting/how qualification works for the first 6 weeks of this.

I'm thinking of doing a plug sesh for this on perhaps Thursday? This of course can be changed so let me know below what day works best/if people are up for this!

So Buzzjack, start voting NOW!

P.S. also if you wanna host a round of this, then let me know either in the thread or by PM, there's a couple of others already shown interest in the other thread but there's plenty more rounds needing hosts!

Our first full set of Azerbaijan entries there as well!

I'd call Azerbaijan > Greece > Sweden > Israel out of the lot of those.

And I think my campaigns are going to have to be for Elnur's wolf hour, Safura, OPA and LA VOIX. LET'S MAKE THIS SUPER EUROVISION GO RIGHT.

I read that as Samra at first and thought you'd got heat stroke today.

But YES VOTE FOR DRIP DROP

Goodness no. I got heatstroke yesterday.

Though I've definitely had a good appreciation for Dilara lately compared to how I originally thought of it, if you want an ethnically Azeri entry, that was it. They are a good nation even if it's all a bit Ramrynia.

Those 10 years were so good for Israel. Not a single meh song and 4 songs of life there (2008-2010,2017 obv).

The stockpiling of a lot of big hitters in week 1 makes me wonder if we've got a week of interminable shitness coming up at some point.

On a related note, I nominate Ryan to have the Lithuania week.

I have voted! Pretty high quality songs from all of them

I can host a heat btw

I hope I get chance to vote in this, next time I'll be sat at a computer will be Saturday night so I just hope I don't fall asleep before doing this as I'd hate to have an incomplete set of votes.

(This is a hint that you need to bombard me with PMs/messages on Saturday night)

If not I'm sure I can let you vote Sunday before results in the evening x

THIS IS NOT A FREE FOR ALL TO LEAVE IT MIND YOU!!!!

I'm working Sunday too so it wouldn't really help but thank you, maybe on the train back home tomorrow I could squeeze it in if I'm not falling asleep!
azerbaijan as a whole seems like a good bunch of songs but so few life-changing highlights there. read: none
We'll be having the plug session tomorrow night at 8pm in the Eurovision room!

I'll try and be around for this but I am already at work ready to start my shift in 15 minutes so no guarantees I'll be able to keep my eyes open. Was in bed by half 7 last night due to feeling tired :')

Plug sesh starting v soon here and you've got just over 24 hours left to vote, a lot of Eurohoes still absent from my spreadsheet!

2017 and 2009 have both provided a favourite and a least favourite.

And f*** me, having to award points to some of those Greek horrors
