August 2, 20177 yr I have no clue who most of these "celebrities" are. Channel 5 have always used the term "celebrity" loosely but I think they've outdone themselves now. If Sandi from Gogglebox doesn't win this then I will be surprised. There aren't any decent looking women in the house either which is a shame.
August 2, 20177 yr I'm SO bored of everyone on Twitter etc moaning they're not celebrities :lol: It gets barely 2 million views on Channel 5, they're hardly going to procure Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber and Hilary Clinton. Yet the same people watch every year so should know what they're in for. Anyone really famous with a proper career won't be able to take potentially 4 weeks off to go in and it isn't worth the potential embarrassment or damage to their career. A lot of these people have nothing to lose, and besides the "nobodies" who are from US reality shows nobody in the UK knows usually come to be really good housemates, for better or worse. Tiffany for better and Farrah for worst, for example :kink: For me it's about the characters not the level of star. Like Channel 4 got a Jackson on and he was pretty boring, whereas nobody knew who say Austin Armacost was in his first series and he was one of the defining characters. Also I'd say for Channel 5, Derek, Helen, Shaun and especially Sarah are really good coups. They might not all be on TV all the time now but most people will know who they are. It also depends what you watch really, for me Trisha Paytas is a huge name and I can't believe she's on it becasue I watch her on YT, other people who love Mob Wives or Real Housewives might be freaking out over Marissa or Brandi.

There have been some years where i would hardly know any of the cast but this year i would know a reasonable amount of them so i think it is a strong line up. I have high hopes for Sarah Harding. Sean Williamson, i thought he was rubbish with the task he was giving.

I'd never heard of this Trisha person but I'm delighted she's in because I've done research and it's clear she's gonna be an absolute riot to watch. I mean, it still pisses me off when they put the Bobby Sabel's of the world in the celebrity version, but overall, these lesser known celebs don't bother me.

The whole thing fell extremely flat. Were the crowd told not to boo or something? A C4 era crowd/early C5 era crowd would normally have jeered the hell out of housemates like Brandi. I don't know Jemma at all but she seems to have a very bad reputation, so I'm curious to see how she continues in the coming days.
