October 18, 200618 yr This is a really slow-burning, brilliant film. The whole 'vengeance' idea has a lot more in common with Park Chan Wook's spectacular meditations on those themes than with Tarantino's bloated, over-blown tripe which was just a load of sound and fury signifying nothing.... For this film think of a cross between "Sympathy for Mr Vengeance" crossed with "Taxi Driver" with a dash of "First Blood" thrown in just for good measure.. Excellent.. The central performance from Paddy Considine would've netted an Oscar for an American actor without a doubt.. As good as De Niro at his "Taxi Driver" best.... EVERYONE WHO POSTS IN THIS FORUM - IT IS YOUR HOMEWORK TO WATCH THIS FILM.  Contemporary British film-making at its best....
