It's just bad deja vu after what happened to Alexis. And we all know what happened to her album! :(

I am so mixed up in all of this. Firstly we've got no idea what's going on and I have to say I am shocked it's been pushed back to next year...I just hope Lucie is okay and everything is going to work out for the best I guess. :(

I'm shocked to be honest.

I'm pretty sure that some new songs will be recorded now though, of WYMO proportions.

In a way, I'm excited about that prospect, more Lucie songs, but then again, to me TSS was a perfect album & needed no work on it. Plus as the LS forum memebers know, that album 'is' lucie. She's moved on from the WYMO scale of things.

I hope everything is sorted soon enough.

Grr still annoyed because HMV won;t let me into my accoutn because they blocked it [rude] so I can't cancell the order to download it via iTunes. :(

Okay well the official site is just down and not gone so we can assume there have been no big bust ups with Mercury.

I agree with you though Toby, having heard The Same Side it needs no work doing to it at all it's beautiful how it is and I feel Lucie shouldn't try and resort back to an old sound if this new one is just as good, if not better. It's totally Lucie, it's totally unique and she was so so excited when it was finished and for everyone to hear it that now, makes me sad. I can understand them pushing the album back to work on it's launch here in the UK though. :(

Daz & I were talking, obviously Last Year shouldn't have been the lead single, however much I love it, being an amazing Lucie song, but not stand out enough to get the 'chico', 'crazy frog' & 'Westlife' buying public to buy it & have interest in the album. Last year should be the final single from the album, or released in January, Hopefully Mercury will re-think there stragegy a little bit & release the stronger tracks as singles (i.e The Same Side, Already Gone & Something About You) rather than the arguably weaker (i.e. Place To Hide [prepares to be hurled criticism] Sinking In & Trying Not To Lose)

I agree with that aswell...Last Year should never have been the 1st single, no matter how much I love it :(

Out of interest where did you UK lot buy the dutch version of the album from on the internet? I think I'm gonna have to look into getting it now, February seems like ages away

Yep it's a lovely song but I found it an odd choice when I first heard it on that day on Radio 2, obviously I wasn't going to doubt Lucie - because I never would but I see now that it probably would have been more sensible to go with a more commercial first single such as Something About You.

I got the cd album off someone on the forums, all I can say is don't go with FRS!

Well, if you remember I did say last year shouldn't have been the first single. I knew the first time I heard it it wasn't a *hit*. I love Lucie, but this was a mistake.

I think it shoulda gone like this:

1st single: The Same Side (or) Song For Sam (Working Title Only)

2nd single: Something About You

3rd single: Already Gone

4th single: Sinking In

Oh, and FRS did send the CD eventually. So if you can wait a week or so, go for it! :D

Haha Working Title Only :P

That's my doing.

Obviously we know why SFS(WTO) can't be on the album, but it would have made a cracking return single! You can't dispute that!

Something About You & Already Gone have to be singles, I hope Mercury listen to the fans this time, unlike with the Twisting The Chain Shananigan.

Twisting the chain should soooo have been released!! I'm still shocked that it wasn't!!!

Well, when I said to Lucie I thought SFS (WTO) would have been a massive radio hit. She said "I'm glad someone does" which makes me think Mercury didn't have any confidence in it as a single. Idiots!
Mercury never even got a demo of Song For Sam and that was Lucie's decision not to send it for reasons beyond her own control...

Obviously we know why SFS(WTO) can't be on the album, but it would have made a cracking return single!

Why wasn't it allowed on the album? Yeah I think it would have been a great single too!

All due to personal reasons, which is a shame, although it would have stuck out like a sore thumb on the album now!
Song for Sam was amazing....I hope we do get to hear a studio version one day

It's my impression that it's not that it wasn't "not allowed" there, Lucie didn't want it there. anyway, it doesn't change anything .. it's not there, so that's not the issue here.

Lucie said that the song wasn't just about her feelings, but also about someone else's and that's why the song isn't on the album.

But the album is as amazing as it can be, even without SFS! She told me she's still gonna play it live and maybe record it as a bside or something. She just didn't feel it was right to put it on this album.
