August 31, 20177 yr Author I can't think of any. A lot of his own songs were upbeat, so maybe the few covers he did needed to show a different side to him. Are we going to participate in this? If so, should we vote on those posted in this thread by a certain time or just let the Hissmobile decide? I will do a poll thread tomorrow with all of them and we can vote on the one we choose. 'Oh Lord, Won't You Buy Me A Mercedes Benz' seems to be the most liked one though at the minute judging by the comments.

September 1, 20177 yr Finally I will enter Darius' Tu Vuo' Fa L'Americano/ Mr Saxobeat into AFSC V. I hope you don't mind me choosing but I think we need something uplifting to enter to cheer us up after the downbeat news of the forum closing, plus I think it will be very different to what other artist forums will send and has quite an ending too! If you do mind and don't want this song selected and another one instead please say below. I would not like it to be entered. I would rather have, From Russia with Love, or Mercedes Benz

Wheres the link to the thread where they are having a laugh about the Darius Forum's entry? The song was really serious originally though (about someone who was too poor to afford the things mentioned). Darius definitely puts a different spin on to it turning it into a more light hearted cover. He shows his acting ability with his all his hand and face gestures during it and it was also almost like a stand up comedy performance. Darius would be good at stand up comedy I think! September 2, 20177 yr It was done as a bit of fun at the MB Classical Concert and should be taken as a bit of fun. If we wanted him to win we would not have entered it. It, as you say, shows a different side of Darius some people will not have seen. Some people just take life too seriously. Life is just too short for that

I don't think he is any chance of winning AFSC V tbh, but I just thought the Tu Vuo' Fa L'Americano/ Mr Saxobeat cover may have done the best out of all of his covers in that contest. Hopefully the fact some Buzzjackers may not have heard the original 'Oh Lord Won't You Buy Me A Mercedes-Benz' and the novelty factor of Darius' cover might mean it does a bit better than I think it will. September 3, 20177 yr Author Baby One More Time as it is still ikonek!! I think many on this forum will agree, while it undoubtedly iconic, it wasn't one of his best covers. As Nigel Lythgoe said he did overegg the cake!
