Capital Letters >>> this but I lowkey like this.

Thats what happens when cqmerqn gets going.

It's been hanging around Spotify's top 40 for 4 months. It's hardly going to shoot up the charts
Surprised to see that this hasn’t taken off more, considering how much money her label have thrown at her!!

Have they really though?

She hasn't had any promotional appearances or anything, the video wasn't expensive and besides she gets a lot of money from her roles in Pitch Perfect and advertising deals.

She’s similar to RAYE, who you said has money thrown at her?

She’s similar to RAYE, who you said has money thrown at her?

Just that she's on the top of Spotify playlists, featured in headers and has features / gimmicks in her song (sampling 'Always On Time' and now Mabel and Stefflon Don).

I love RAYE, I really like her music, but she was better before 'Decline' and 'Cigarette', her earlier material sounded more unique.

Hailee has ridiculous features though... Watt, Alesso and Florida Georgia Line on one track!

So you have indie pop, pop, dance and country artists on one track?!

That's nothing like Raye's payola though  The artists came together to make a song in the same style it's not like the chorus is a rock banger, the verses are country and there's an EDM drop.
I just think it's an odd comparison to make, they're completely different artists with different fanbase, Hailee is global for example. She doesn't really need payola, 'Starving' and 'Love Myself' were huge hits in the US and she's a known name!
I really don't see the point in dragging Hailee just because someone made a valid point about your precious "queen" Raye? It doesn't detract from Hailee just because Raye's last single peaked higher...

I mean, if they're on Hot Hits, I'm sure *both* artists are guilty of payola, I don't think it's any secret that that's the way into Hot Hits UK. Let's not make out as if it's some bad thing for RAYE to pay to be bumped up the list, it's a smart marketing technique and it payed off - a #15 peak for Decline is solid!

Hailee is indeed more global and obviously Starving was massive. Neither are huge names within music really, but they're both very early on in their careers so time will tell how much longer they last. Let Me Go has done.... roughly how I expected. It's a solid song but I don't think she's come close to topping Starving yet!

In short: both are doing fine

Let Me Go probabaly could’ve had a chance at a #15 peak if its payola and radio support came a few months ago when the song was actually new. I can’t really see it going Top 20 at this point because it’s success has been dragged over quite a few months time, I’m surprised it’s even made Top 40 really

I like the song but it is absolutely nothing new and is just a sound we’ve all heard before :P Hanging around the charts for a while before taking off hugely (like Feel It Still) isn’t really possible for this song because it lacks a unique sound like Feel It Still did.
