Berry is best known as the man who duck-walked into the hearts of people all over the world and entertained and influenced millions with his signature style and creative affinity for music. From St. Louis to Tokyo, through the years his creative songwriting and unique persona have captivated fans around the globe, and on this day we celebrate the man, the innovator and the legend. Charles Edward Anderson Berry was born in St. Louis, Mo. on Oct. 18, 1926. He got his start in the small clubs of St. Louis, infusing their hollowed halls with his unique musical style and technique. Since 1955 he has mesmerized the world with his amazing musical talent and he continues to thrill the audiences of today. Berry has accomplished much since his debut in 1955. He was the first singer/guitarist to appear on the Billboard charts and directly influenced many historic bands such as the Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Beatles, the Beach Boys and Elvis Presley. Berry?s musical masterpieces also created a bridge between whites and blacks of his time by making music that appealed to a wide variety of individuals.
