I might do 7Digital as I dont do Amazon and have already downloaded from iTunes! And also Spotify x
Although Hot isn't the best album, it didn't deserve to peak so low! She doesn't deserve to be the only Spice Girl not to have a top 10 album, just like Victoria doesn't deserve to be the only one not to have a solo #1!

I feel like we should discuss singles/albums anniversaries in the relevant album era topics (i.e. Spice Up Your Life anniversary celebration can be discussed in the Spiceworld topic). Let’s mainly use this topic for moments~ in their career. Such as - it’s 23 years since their Istanbul shows (12th/13th October 1997)!

This when i eard for the first time "Move Over".
I used to love watching the Live At Istanbul DVD! So many great performances - with 'If U Can't Dance' and 'Naked' particularly standing out to me. It was great fun to re-watch a couple of years ago with a cluster of other Spice fans at the Spice Up London exhibition

2 years ago (5th November 2018) - Spice Girls announced their 2019 tour!
WHAT a way to do it too

Smashed it B-)

The announcement video was spice girls at their best, poking fun at themselves but then showing when all that is put aside it is magical (the la la la la bit).

Forgot to mention this, but 2 years ago - 10th November 2018 - the date we all went crazy buying tickets for the tour :cheer: I want to go back 2 years. Remember when we used to take it for granted that we could go to concerts?

~

Some other solo releases anniversaries I completely forgot to mention:

21 years ago: 01/11/99 - Geri Halliwell - Lift Me Up

17 years ago: 10/11/03 - Melanie C - Melt / Yeh Yeh Yeh

20 years ago today - Holler performance at the EMAs

Their last performance before they unofficially split up!

To me it doesn’t feel like too long ago since we were celebrating the 20th anniversary of Wannabe’s release (aka the disastrous “Spice Girls GEM” moment :drama: )... and now here we are, 20 years on from the final moment of the Spice Girls’ 1996-2000 hey day.

I remember a rumour on denden that Mel C threw a fit during rehearsals when she found out they'd be lip synching that performance. :o

Wonder if it was true.

Just goes to show how short lived the Spice Girls were

Apparently there were loads of issues, incl the girls being late due to a delayed flight (so no rehearsal), their team brought the wrong cassette (LOL how vintage) so they had to mime (I think this one sounds like bull to me) and they werent happy with the direction of the performance itself (like most everyone else lol)...

Overall, it is sad that the era started by the group at their peak receiving an Outstanding Contribution award at the Brits early in the year 2000 and then falling flat on their faces a few months later with the release of Forever and its promo schedules...

Recent anniversaries:

22 years ago:

23/11/98 - Melanie C - When You're Gone (with Bryan Adams) [it's actually 22 years ago today since it entered at #3]

21 years ago:

22/11/99 - Melanie C - Northern Star

20 years ago:

27/11/00 - Melanie C - If That Were Me

19 years ago:

26/11/01 - Geri Halliwell - Calling

16 years ago:

22/11/04 - Geri Halliwell - Ride It

14 years ago:

20/11/06 - Emma Bunton - Downtown

As always it's a bit depressing how long ago all of these were. Ride It release is pretty much half of my life ago. I seem to remember some DenDen members were really annoyed that Girls Aloud were #1 when Geri was "only" #4! Who would have guessed then that it would be Geri's final Top 10 single? (Unless you like to count Bridge Over Troubled Water but it feels like a stretch to me, ha)

Ahhh Ride It. I can still remember the excitement of Blackpool performance and hearing it for the first time after what felt like such a huge wait for something new.

The Return of the Spice Girls Tour kicked off 13 years ago today in Vancouver on December 2nd, 2007.

According to my estimations it was the highest grossing girl group tour of the 2000s with $70.1m grossed. (Destiny’s Child’s tour apparently grossed $70.8m but the average gross per show and the amount of tour dates it probably did $30-40m)
