Alma has just announced her second UK single (presumably her first US single) "Phases". It features French Montana and will be out tomorrow. It was written with Charli XCX (who also directed the video), Noonie Bao, Sasha Sloan and Charlie Handsome.

 

I can't wait to hear this, "Chasing Highs" was a slow burner for me but I really love it now. I'm so glad Charli is involved too, I love seeing their interactions on Instagram.

Alma is more pop than dance, so she should stay here imo.

 

Although this will almost certainly be urban not pop or dance with French Montana involved of course!

Love every song ALMA has put her name to so far, so very hyped to hear this!

Pretty shite yet again, I cannot stand her voice :lol: She is so nothingy.

 

I really like it but I think unfortunately for her, its success is going to be limited as "Hurtin' Me" has just started to smash for French/Stefflon. It's #157 on iTunes :/ "Chasing Highs" is still top 40 officially though so I think it has time.

Every single song I've heard of hers has been so painfully generic and dull. :/

this doesn't sound as good as Chasing Highs so I'm not so sure about the hit potential of it.

What has happened with the girls' ? first Anne and now ALMA.. such a disappointing bland/forgettable track.

Are we all agreed now that ALMA stays in Pop in future?

 

This song is actually a bit dancier than the last two and is actually less generic than her last two, less tropical pop.

 

Not as good in terms of the vocal as 'Chasing Highs' but I prefer the instrumental in this one.

 

The best thing about it is still Alma's eyes in the single art imo. :lol:

Yeah, I agree with this. It's not bad by any means, but it's so nondescript and I've got absolutely no desire to return to it unlike her previous releases. It's a shame, because 'Chasing Highs' and her Sub Focus collab are among my favourite tracks this year.
