Seeing we had a question in the Trivia thread about Sun Records, I thought I would add this, and it might have got lost in that thread

I was lucky enough to visit Sun Studios, last year, and it was a fantastic experience. To actually see the place where it all started for Elvis and to stand on the actual spot where he recorded those first few records, was an awesome experience  Even for those who aren't as crazy about Elvis as me, there's loads to see and it was fascinating to hear the history of it and see the displays, and the tour guide was excellent :D

A great book about Sun Records which I bought there (and incidentally gave me the answers to the quiz question  ) is called 'Good Rockin Tonight - Sun Records And The Birth Of Rock'N'Roll' by Colin Escott with Martin Hawkins and you can get it, plus loads of other great Sun items, and get a virtual tour of Sun Studios at: http://www.sunstudio.com/index.aspx?bhcp=1

The actual studio

Take a look at the ceiling, those tiles helped to give it the original sound  Btw, that's not me in the pics ;) but just behind the girl, you can see the actual microphone on the actual spot where Elvis sang into it  X marks the spot!! The guide said that some people kiss the mic  I just touched it :D It's hard to believe that such a tiny studio like this produced the music that changed the world and where Elvis began his journey to superstardom :cheer:

Thanks, Brian, Elvis will forever be associated with Sun Records  Even though stars like Johnny Cash were there for longer, it's Elvis you immediately think of when you think of Sun :D
