Anastacia is Keynote Presenter at Mayo Clinic's 2006 Women's Cancer Workshop

 

Mayo Clinic will hold its Fifth Annual Women's Cancer Program, entitled Merging Science and Care. This year, Anastacia, international pop singer and songwriter, and a breast cancer survivor, will present the Keynote Address.

This annual education event focuses on current topics in cancer care, promising research and ways for dealing with cancer and its effects. Anastcia will share her message of survival, recounting her cancer experience from discovery and diagnosis through treatment, and how this cancer affected her, her family and her career as well as what was helpful during this journey.

 

She will also discuss the Anastacia Fund at The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the goal of which is to raise funds earmarked for breast cancer research in younger women.

 

The Women's Cancer Program was started in 1992 within the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, and is committed to advancing the scientific understanding of breast and gynecologic cancers, educating patients, professionals and the public and optimizing the care of patients with these diseases.

"The ceremonie took place yesterday in the morning in Rochester MN from 8am to 3:45pm. Ana talked there at 8:15am and she answered journalist questions from 9:30 to 11am"
