Can anyone explain to be why the Murder 'remix' of J'Lo's Ain't It Funny with added Ja Rule is called a remix if it is a completely different song to the 'original'? Just stupid.

It was the follow-up to the remix of I'm Real, which was an actual Ja Rule remix of a solo J-Lo track. He was asked to do Ain't It Funny as a sequel but it ended up as a completely different song. They still called it 'Ain't It Funny (Remix)' as that was the original idea and it promoted the new album, along with further helping Lopez to move from a pop to R&B direction.

 

For some reason whoever officially uploaded them to Youtube has got even more confused and called the remix the original, and the original an "alternate version" - what you've posted is actually the same song twice! Here's the actual original -
