January 6, 20187 yr I doubt it will go top 40 sadly. Funky house isn't really in fashion at the minute, cooler sounding deep/tech house are more popular at the minute. :( Hope I am wrong though. NEITHER are popular at the moment.
January 7, 20187 yr NEITHER are popular at the moment. I would disagree, Cola and Breathe's success in the UK charts shows deep and tech house's popularity atm.

Neither were even top 10 hits... Can only think of a handful of dance hits (excluding all the slow tempo ones that are technically classed as 'dance' music) from the entirety of 2017.
March 4, 20187 yr This is so good, I discovered it yesterday thanks to Plug.dj. I just want to starting singing the word to Doctor Beat when it comes on though  Edited March 4, 20187 yr by Tombo
March 4, 20187 yr I think it would have if we were still in 2014 but sadly it's very hard for dance songs to become genuine hits now, I think the streaming age has made it a lot harder for crossover dance hits.
March 4, 20187 yr Yep that does sadly seem to be the case. I did think this would be an exception though & pull a Solo Dance. I hope we don't go into a mid-noughties Chart lull for Dance hits although at least this time round it's urban taking over rather than generic landfill indie.

(There's no lull for those who believe songs like "These Days" by Rudimental et al and "Friends" by Marshmello & Anne-Marie are actual dance songs)

Well at the moment we seem to be in 2003 when dance was doing badly and urban was doing really well. If history repeats itself we'll have indie doing well again in a few years, though I doubt it as indie seems to be hit even harder by streaming than dance.
