This is the NOTW today Raz - According to this simon fuller and 19 are going to be even busier if you can believe it. I hear pop svengali Simon fuller is planning to put together the Spice boys on a new reality show. The search for the next scary, posh, baby, sport starts THIS YEAR. my insider says its the music industry story of the year. Simon has been working hard organising the spice girls reunion and now he wants to create the next best thing in pop but this time with boys. Simon masterminded the spice girls reunion one of the biggest come back gigs ever so doing a male version is pure genius. it will be a pop idol style search for five young lads who'll becone the spice boys. Simons really excited and thinks its going to be a massive hit.

One True Voice!

A lot of those boys were good. The last 10 would have made 2 good groups. It was such a shame about the songs they were given to sing.

I wish Darius would hurry up with his albums, else he'll be chained to 19 (Recordings) for eternity. 2 down, 3 to go.

With one true voice it was all about the song I think and to some degree the presentation. Dont think simon fuller will make the same mistakes but he could do with so many irons in the fire.

As usual and pretty obviously its making money over talent!! Spice Boys good god! its all about lets see who can think of something to make some more money...and at present tv voting shows are making them rich, and they are coming up wiht more an dmore desperate formats to cash in on them!

While genuine talent is not nurtured or indeed interested in.

These boy/girl/whatever manufactured voted in bands have no talent apart from they an possibley hold a tune..and learn a dance - and do what they are told! I would rather vote for monkeys. but as long as the powers that be see that they get money from selling the TV show, votes, then money from the surge in the sales of the first few records..its easy money

Simon Fuller has more contacts in the music business than thousands of others. If he just wants 19 to have a boyband/ male group to match the Spice Girls, he could have gone out and found them the way Simon Cowell did with Il Divo. He spotted a gap in the market and auditioned to match.

 

The only conclusion to be drawn, is he wants another show because even AI is losing viewers. You'd think he could have come up with something more original than Popstars with voting............

One True Voice boys did have talent. They could sing. They played their instruments well.. They did choose a daft name and Pete W chose the worst songs possible for them. I was so grateful D wouldn't sign wih him.

Instruments? What instruments? I never saw them play one single musical instrument. Then again I only saw what most of the GBP saw - a close harmony ill matched group.

They did on the program. The mix was wrong of the boys. If they'd been put together as two differnt bands instead of public vote, they'd have been good. The girls seemed to be put through by Louis for their looks as much as anything. He did choose a relly good song for them though.

That's what I thought - it was like a cut and shut car no wonder it crashed.

 

Two of the guys were stylish and mature and the others were melodic boyband types, complete with teen pop stories of which famous girls they were dating.

 

Was SF/19 involved in Ps2?

Was Pete their manager, their producer or both?

 

Just wondering, because when Darius was with 19, SC sent him to Pete wearing his producer hat, who wanted to give him an original ballad while Simon wanted a double a-side cover. I wonder who'd have won if Darius hadn't given them both nul points for their suggestions.

Pete was their manager as well as their producer. They didn't stand a chance.

Did Pete manage anyone before OTV? I always thought he was a behind the scenes guy until PI.

Yes, he's managed a few people. None of the recent ones have done much

I don't know who he manage and he he controlled. I don't know whether he managed Rick Aastly but, he certainly controlled how his carreeer went. He's had POP and that young girl name began with L. He's also talking about starting another group.
