Actually the last single I remember Pop releasing was called 'Serious', I think and it was a very good pop song.

 

Sadly by that stage pop was being shunned by the radio stations and it was all RnB, bland bland bland MOR or guitar bands.

I'm aFRAID THAT NEITHE ACT APPEALED TO ME. Whoops, the dreaded capital lock again. I've just washed my fingers and can't do a thing with them.

I always used to mix her up with Amt Studt, probably just because they were both young. I don't think musically they were at all alike.

The young girl pete managed was called Lauren but I cant remember her other name either. She was 14 years old at the time he launched her and had a reasonable voice, unfortunately llike one true voice she didnt have the songs nor the looks I felt, a bit on the old fashioned side.

I keep thinking Butterworth, Shuttleworth, something which sounded northern to my ears.

I recall her!! he had Rick Astly?? write her song? sideshow..or the circus or some thing quite ddreadful! she was on everywhere being hyped up..but that was her only song

I thought One true voice were the ugliest bunch of boys I had ever seen..until Busted came along..

Simon Fuller is really supporting brand Beckham. No doubt had to shore it up after the 6 part reality show which became a one hour show which the American critics didn't get and totally slated.He went in person to the party for them at the museum. It's rare for SF to turn up at events.

 

I remember he managed to turn up at 19's own birthday party a few years ago,an event where the blurb to accompany the photos took a swipe at Darius saying he hadn't been around when he'd been high profile for months in Scotland, doing two major VIP performances at either side of the country the same weekend.

 

It was the same mentality as always - anything that happens in or around London is more newsworthy.

 

It was noticeable with with the floods recently. As soon as they hit Middle England they became first news item.

 

 

As soon as they hit here, they'll be even more newsworthy to me. People cannot stand Darius to do well. He doesn't let it stop him though

I am sure their mothers loved them - but I generally am not concerned with a boybands inner beauty - the main attraction of a boyband is their looks and a good song. specially manufactured for the gratification of teenage girls mainly - my daughters I recall just laughed out loud, whihc made me think they had got it wrong. didnt Rick Astley write their song too?

We're on the right side of the river. The flood warnings are likely to be for the other side. Last weeks flood hit the towns around us, not us. It's lucky when the river is so close.

 

I thought the boys were good. I've never supported music for the way an artist looked, and I thought they were no better/worse looking than most. I did think they had potential but the wrong split in the group was a shame. It would have made one good boy band and one skilled group.

It will be interesting to see who Simon Fuller appoints as judges and what format he will devise.

 

Pop Idol was his, wasn't it, although most people would probably say Simon Cowell, if they were asked in a vox pop whose idea PI was.

I think it was Nigel someone or other, sorry forgot the surname. They called him nasty Nigel, he is still behind the sceenes in US PI, and he is also judging the dance competition going on in USA with Cat (former CDUK)as presenter.
