Just to prove a point, something happened today which made me realise what I have thought for a while in that Darius does need to get himself in the public eye as Julia has said in a previous post. I work two days a week and I get a lot of people from scotland visiting. Today I had a couple and of course I always have to say something and I asked if they were from glasgow and they said nearby so I mentioned Darius and they immediately knew who he was and said we wondered what had happened to him so I told them I had seen him at liverpool etc etc. They said they were glad to hear he was still going so I said where exactly are you from - Edinburgh she said so I told her he was there for two weeks and they didnt know anything about it.I rest my case.

I do understand what you are saying but I tend to feel unless you are looking for something or someone you miss loads.

I know what Darius is doing because I look for it but I haven't a clue about other stars etc.

My family and friends always tell me if they read something or see Darius on TV, but if I wasn't such a big fan they would just dismiss it.

I certainly wouldn't be looking to see who was on at the West End or my local theatre unless I was a regular theatre goer.

Hi Pam, I also see what you are saying about the theatre if you arent a fan but it is usually in your local paper, or it is in mine or on our local tv. Wayne sleep is on my tv now advertising high society at plymouth. My thoughts are that if Scotland or local dont know he is still around, england must be worse. It just needs a reminder of some sort, I didnt think there was much of a reminder in the DR at the time or maybe Im wrong.
So, all we have to do is to get him to do something that'll let us know he's around? I think he likes his privacy too much to do that. We'll just have to wait until he's ready

I rarely buy a local paper and the free one I only glance at the news unless I want to go to the pictures then I look at entertainment.

I very rarely watch TV.

Darius was on 2 TV programes at good times of the day there were also adverts in several papers. he also did a radio interview.

Edinburgh had at least 1 bus advertising, it was in the scottish papers...but I was looking for it...if I hadn't I wouldn't have noticed.

Those people may have heard of Darius but even if they knew he was on in Edinburgh would they have bothered going.

I'd like to think they would. There was evidence around, they just didn't see it.

I don't know what the answer is.

We will just have to have Faith in Darius and hope he has the answers he needs.

with most people if they arent in the limelight continually they are not thought about uless you are a fan, I have no idea what most popstars are up to unless I happen to read about them while looking for darius stuff.

I have plenty of people comment to me that gareth, Will, et all have disappeared saying well these reality types dont last..of course I put them right about Darius, and they say oh he has done well for himself then, in general if people havent a strong interest in someone they have no idea what they are doing.

too true.

it amazes me how he can walk the streets and go un-noticed.....I mean he just stands out to me...and I don't mean his height.

One night Aria and he were laughing and joking then singing into a mobile walking down the street in London.....no-one bothered.

Perhaps this is a city thing..

It made us laugh though. If we didn't constantly look for mentions of him, we'd miss most of what he does as well. However much you try to get it across that people need to know, they seem so busy that that part is overlooked.

You're correct about the DR, Preston. Zilch! There wasn't a word in the Sunday Mail or the Sunday Post either because I checked them every week. Nor was there anything in any copy of the Evening Times which I bought.

The show was advertised twice on TV, once before Grease Is The Word and the other time after Corrie on STV.

Darius wasn't on Radio Clyde or Radio Forth as he usually is when he's back in Scotland. I wonder if the stations have changed hands.

The Sunday Post did carry an advert for it though, just didn't give it a write up, which surprised me

Well it was different for duncan james, he was in loads of papers and has extended by three weeks. This was in the 3 am girls column today, wonder who it is - Which reality star is secretly dating a hollywood actress, the slippery guy has told pals hes smitten.

I read about someone recently but it didn't make any impression.

Callum Best was supposed to be dating Lindsay Lohan but chucked her because she's boring since she's been to rehab. He got that wrong considering she's been arrested for DUI and allegedly in possession of drugs.

I don't think the article's about him either.

They said once that these 'snippets' were so much fun as no one could sue them as they didn't put a name. They can be absolute rubbish and it makes no difference.

How was it different for Duncan? You mean media coverage?

Including his 3 weeks' extension, he's still only doing the equivalent of Darius's first run without his 4 week extension.

Just adding, does anyone remember the Jonathon Ross show? He'd been talking about his porn collection in his show and they did one of those snippets 'which chat show host has a secret stash of porn vids' He said, live on air, what secret, only me and 5 million people know about it.
I remember that. It made me laugh. People like JR must have fun trailing silly things to see if they get picked up by the Red Tops.
