and all that claptrap about they were absolutely amazed because they didn't think he could do it because he was so young....... at 29.......

Funny they didn't say that about Darius, who'd just turned 25 when he played him so successfully for 96 consecutive performances.

Oh I forgot they just didn't say anything about Darius, did they?

Blanked him completely, probably hoping no-one would go and they could say he'd come a cropper and his run had been a major flop. The fact he succeeded must have been sickening enough for them but to be nominated for a theatre award must have really stuck in those gullets.

Agree with all you say baytree but if it had been someone else we know nominated or in fact any other reality star for sure they would have made something of it.

Actually, thinking about it, Darius did all 121 performances as Billy Flynn while he was still 25.

It's beginning to feel a long, long time ago. I think G&D showed his talent even more though
You're correct about the DR, Preston. Zilch! There wasn't a word in the Sunday Mail or the Sunday Post either because I checked them every week. Nor was there anything in any copy of the Evening Times which I bought.

The show was advertised twice on TV, once before Grease Is The Word and the other time after Corrie on STV.

Darius wasn't on Radio Clyde or Radio Forth as he usually is when he's back in Scotland. I wonder if the stations have changed hands.

This was the one that was in the Sunday Post.

I can't believe I missed that. I love that poster and the individual ones that were at the Playhouse entrance.
That was so good. They weren't there when I went to find where the theatre ws on Monday and it was lovely walking up on the Tuesday and seeing them there.
What time were you there on the Monday? I went to see the evening show but of course it wasn't on.
I was there about 4pm. Just checking where everything was. I'd not noticed the theatre before. I'd be really tempted to try a show next time I'm up.
I've always liked the Playhouse. It's nice and central and there are plenty of shops and places to eat around there.

They are getting younger, Steve wright said this afternoon on radio 2 that Kelly Osborne was wanting to play Mama morton in chicago and was believed to be in talks.

I'm sorry. I can't see it.

I don't think she's a good enough singer to do When You're Good To Mama and Class. At least Mama Morton doesn't have much of an acting role.

Darius adapted easily to plenty of Velmas and Roxies, a couple of Mary Sunshines and Mama Mortons but personally I would hate him to have to share the stage with Kelly, who seems extremely inappropriate for the part. Brenda was a stunning singer.

I wasn't impressed with her acting but thought that, vocally, she was great. She also looked the part. I felt she'd improve throughout her run. She was still working on her album when I spoke to her but I've heard nohing since.

Whats on stage are also tipping Kelly osborne for the part of Mama morton. She is 22.
Well, she's well kown there. A young Mama is ridiculous. She hasn't got the maturity and she wouldn't be able to pretend
It shows what swearing on national TV and throwing hams and things into neighbours' gardens can do for you.
