I must admit I voted for Mark. There is an interesting thread on ROTD headed this weeks album flops and she gets a very definite mention again not complimentary but it makes interesting reading and 19 are told to get their finger out, got it all wrong.
I keep seeing tele ads for all sorts of albums. It just reminds me of how fed up I was that 'Live twice' got no publicity at all.
so do I..and lo and behold it is in between the programs they appear on, the stars who appear on x factor etc seem to have their albums pushed in all the breaks of those shows. as I say at least I know th artists have to repay the label for all this advertising.and it odnt come cheap!! so they best pray their album benefit from it all

Imust admit that this is the first time I have noticed that an artiste has had blanket promotion as in emmas case, every programme going as well as virtually every night of the week on strictly dancing and in spite of that unsuccessful. It does make me wonder what will happen with GG , 19 will surely have to have a rethink. Am not sure that staying completely out of the public eye for two or three years is such a good idea as 19 seem to do with their artistes, but a little news but not too often would seem to be a better option to jog peoples memories.
Hopefully the public's desire to know more, for whatever reason, about what happened behind the scenes with Gareth's career will ensure a great rating for his documentary and an initial introduction to his new musical direction. Let's hope SF has a good publicity and promotion campaign to capitalise on it.

According to two posters on the pop forum - quote

quote -Apparently she is re-releasing her album after the next single, "You're all I need to know".

Quite strange, but maybe the record company will re-promote it because its got lost in the christmas market. I wonder if there will be any new tracks on it? I've bought the album and it contains 2 b sides from the single.ntly she is re-releasing her album after the next single, "You're all I need to know".

That made me laugh lost in the christmas rush" you couldnt fail to know it was out by the amount of promotion she had.

and according to teletex sharon osborne is not doing the next x factor and Simon cowells first choice is emma bunton to replace her. They are certainly pulling out the stops for her, shame D didnt get that consideration especially the re=releasing bit.

Yes, Preston, but Darius wasn't one of Simon Fuller's ex-girlfriends, was he!! :D Simon Fuller is rumoured to be writing!? a sitcom for her too!! (I'm not being bitchy about Emma by the way, because I think she seems to be a very nice girl! :) )

I like Emma. I like Victoria as well. Both of them come over as really sweet people.

I like Darius even more though.

I have nothing against emma apart from the fact that I think she is over-rated particularly singing wise and have to agree with what Pretty in pink says. I also like Victoria.
I saw a bit of Saturday's programme. The judges were falling over themselves to praise Emma and Darren effusively. I was amazed to hear they went out.
well she dances boringly, she was always praised as the best from the start, in my eyes it wasnt who could dance the best from the start..but who has progressed and improved..the lads have pulled them selves up from nothing.plus as men they have the hard part of leading the dances.

On the programme shown tonite where she and darren were present it was like the adoration society. In the sunday papers yesterday, cant remember which one, it said that her record company were not happy with her albums performance and she could be dropped. it said the record label was Universal.
oh i didnt know she was even signed, ..perhaps 19 got her the distribution deal with Universal on the back of the strictly dancing program. if all this pr cant shift her album I suppose they will drop her.

Read this on didgital spy about Fantasia who won american idol two years ago.

Meanwhile, Fox411.com columnist Roger Friedman is reporting that Fantasia is the latest “Idol†alumnae to run screaming from 19 Entertainment, the company which produces the show and is said to force heavy contracts on top “Idol†finalists.

Former contestants Clay Aiken, Mario Vasquez and Kelly Clarkson resorted to hiring high-powered attorneys to get out of their ironclad contracts with 19 Entertainment. Most of their discontent had to do with the company’s manager, Simon Fuller.

“Simon doesn’t really care,†a source told Friedman Monday. “He encourages everyone to leave as soon as they can. Because of the contract, he still makes money from them anyway.â€

Fantasia, 22, did not seem angry or disgruntled under 19 Entertainment’s guidance during last month’s TCA panel. When a reporter asked her point blank about the pressures of being held contractually to the company, her response was: “It’s not like that at all. Even after you win, you choose to stay or you choose to go. And I choose to stay because they take good care of me, and we’ve done a lot of things. If I don’t want to do [something], I can say ‘No.’ …After you win it, it’s your train. You take it and you ride it how you want to ride it.â€

Friedman says Fantasia is currently considering other offers from several new advisors after splitting with 19.

Thanks, Preston. Time will tell whether that's a good move.

Does anyone know if Kelly's Breakaway was made under 19 or not?

I found this interesting from Darius' point of view. Re emma bunton - Quote neil sean (I know) daily star, Former spice girl emma bunton is about to cash in as a songwriter, After her latest album flopped, the one time baby spice has been offered a songwriting deal with Universal records. A source said it is far more lucrative than singing in many cases. No news of a deal like this for D but then we dont get the news anyway. She will be joining David sneddon if its true as he also has a songwriting deal under the universal banner.I suppose the difference with D is that he has always been No.l writer or mostly solo writer on a number of his songs, would imagine she will be like no.,3 or 4.

I don't have a clue about any contracts Darius may have with regard to songwriting and publishing. I don't know the difference between the two.

It's not something I've ever seen/heard asked by the media or fans.

call me a cynic..but I do wonder about these publishing deals, if you wirte a good song and someone wants to buy it - it shouldn't make any difference surely being in this sort of deal, but once in a deal like this I seem to think all your rights as songwriter go out the window and you are signing over your rights to any songs you write. The only things I have read in the past are articles where songwriters have battled to gain some control over their songs after finding out they have lost out through various deals.
