Rihanna has topped off 2017 by being announced as Spotify's most-streamed female artist worldwide! Despite not releasing anything as lead artist this year, her collaborations with DJ Khaled, Kendrick Lamar and the continued success of her 2016 album 'ANTI' have ensured that she beats artists like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and P!nk (all of whom released new albums this year) to top this year's list :D

This is what Riri had to say on Instagram:

shout out to the big homie GOD! big ups to all the fans and streamers for the support when sis ain't even had an album out. 2017! @spotify #BlackGirlMagic

Incredible success for her. I know a lot of big female pop artists haven't released an album this year but to say Rih's last album was released almost two years ago, it's really impressive. Obviously Katy's album underperformed and Taylor's and P!nk's were released relatively recently so it's possible that Taylor would have taken it if 'reputation.' had been released/added to streaming sooner but still!! Queen.
Awww yiss queen of streams. I read somewhere that this is the third year in a row she is the most streamed female. Is this true?

I actually have no idea! :o Does anyone else have an answer? I would be very interested to know as obviously "Bitch Better Have My Money" and "American Oxygen" massively underperformed (unfortunately for the former, less so for the latter) but "FourFiveSeconds" was one of the first streaming-only #1s in the UK! None of the three seem like they will go down as Rihanna's classics though.

BBHMM is trash, as is the album. No one is listeninf to Anti.

Surprised she got it, but not like anybother pop star is being streamed this year a lot anyway.
