Really chilling final scenes. Maybe it's because I'm so used to Eastenders the Sitcom these days, but I was really surprised at how powerful it was. Tomorrow's going to be a tense and emotional watch and I'll be bawling over Bonnie's performance as Carmel.

I enjoyed the whole episode, in fact. The Vic is starting to feel more like a pub again and there were some great little character moments too.

As for Hayley, I'm liking her more and more after not being keen during her initial appearances. She seems like a really realistic character, like someone you would know or know of. The same goes for Halfway's brother tbh. He's an absolute dickhead yet someone who you would definitely have come across in the pub. It's nice to have a bit more nuance with characters - I don't mind not liking them when they're presented in realistic and relatable ways.

I think they’re just trying go make us like Hayley after making her a pretty horrendous person to begin with. Like when they killed off Joyce because they’d made Ted into a twat. But if there’s anything the Slater Tardis doesn’t need, it’s another baby in the house :drama:

As for Stuart I could buy the set up if he wasn’t just Aunt Babe 2.0. Clearly shifty character that Mick loves, does legit dodgy things and is forgiven 20 minutes later.

That was quite scary to watch in places with Keegan, kind of gripping to watch, I wasn't really expecting that ending. I wish there was an extra episode tomorrow, instead of leaving us hanging till Thursday.

Very dark episode tonight and as Martin said above very scary in places.

It was also good to see more of Hayley tonight too. I am beginning to like her.

Hayley grew on me so much in the space of just half an hour! They interwove the Hayley stuff really well, and that just made the whole episode feel like perfect Eastenders, both issues were real and gritty and done so well. Zack Morris' performance was bloody incredible, the episode was let down though by the stupid duff duff... Of course Mick has to get into the drama :drama: It's all gritty and real and so perfectly done and then they have to chuck in some Final Destination shit

Ooh was this the knife crime ep?? :o

I'll have to give it a watch. Hope Kush dies this time. He's already survived a wild bus attack AND a heart attack with only SONIA to help - the same nurse screaming into the phone WHICH SIDE?? when helping Kim give birth. Um, surely you should know, Nurse Sonia??

Slater Tardis

From the clips on youtube, Hayley is VERY popular now judging by the comments.

Omg the teens have come so far since:

That was a great episode except for Mick’s involvement.

I've said since the very early days of these guys joining that Keegan is a fantastic character (and Zack is a brilliant actor). He was unlikable in the past because he was a bully but there was no denying how real and relatable he was to so many teens across the country. He represents the "everyman" of low income disenfranchised minority teens.

I am so happy he's in the spotlight now with a gritty storyline. They've done a fantastic job exploring this dark underbelly of the UK and I hope it continues. The youth/teens are the best thing about EE this past year starting from the involvement of Madison and Alexander right through to Keegan and Shakil now.

An episode. Recently I've only been watching EastEnders sporadically but fantastic work this week and, as Bal said the younger cast really do shine. It's a shame this hasn't received the same coverage and hype as the acid attack in Emmerdale or Aidan's suicide.

I dont mind Yorke, he way better then the last guy, I'm at least tuning in and watching more often now.

I'm surprised the ratings didn't go up for Tuesdays episode but went down, although the share % went up, seems to of gone from getting near up 6m an episode again a few weeks back to dropping and struggling to even reach 5m lately

Yorke was great back in the day but he's been a massive disappointment this time round

But yeah, Tuesday nights episode was RUINED with that f***ing ridiculous Final Destination style ending :puke2:

Behind-the-scenes at Eastenders is a bit of a mess at the moment but I think the programme is starting to get back into its stride. The day-to-day scenes have been much better under Yorke and he's done a great job at strengthening the cast. This storyline of tackling the issue of stabbings in London is Eastenders in big capital letters and they've done a very sensitive, realistic job so far (although I agree the duff duff on Tuesday was unnecessary, the story is powerful enough without that stunt).

The news that Yorke is staying on the remainder of 2018 suggests to me that the show is in safe, stable hands for a while yet, which is needed after its turbulent few years, but it seems to fuel rumours that no-one wants to take over, mainly due to the interference from higher powers at the BBC who don't let the executive producers have as much as creative control as they should.

Omg legit
