I would like Spotify to do genre charts like other streaming sites do, I would like to see what rock songs and indie songs are popular right now, indie and rock struggles to make the Spotify top 50 now but if they had their own genre charts they might do better

The top section of the indie/rock chart would probably just be full of the same old songs all the time like Mr Brightside, Can't Stop, Do I Wanna Know etc. with the odd album bomb (Fall Out Boy this week) or indie crossover hit (Portugal. The Man, Imagine Dragons) every so often too.

They already have individual genre playlists that are updated just as often as Hot Hits is (for most anyway), the only possible problem is how little they are advertised. But most people do gravitate towards “what’s hot” rather than search for something in particular so only a fraction of Spotify users browse the genre sections

I think Dua needs to wait until the Drake hype wears off a bit anyway, which'll probably be another 2 or 3 weeks (I can't see him having One Dance-like longevity). It's still only just getting going on airplay, so 3 weeks timeish is probably good time for her to perform it at the Brits, discount on iTunes and grab that #1.

It can, it's not that well known yet. Songs take ages to peak sometimes.
