Really enjoyed that game tonight. You don't always need the really big names in snooker to be entertained that is for sure.

Would love to see Kyren break through and win a big UK based title, We all know he's capable of course with his win in Shanghai and numerous other finals too.

John Higgins in very good form as he beats Ryan Day 6-1 and goes through to the semis.

So we are guaranteed a new triple crown winner tomorrow either Allen or Wilson will win their biggest title.

Bit of a scrappy first session with Allen and Wilson there. Currently at 4-4 going into the evening's session. I think Mark Allen will edge it 10-8.

Absolutely delighted for Mark Allen. I’ve always been a big fan of his so it’s great to see him finally win a big triple crown event.

Marco Fu will not be competing in events in the forthcoming months on doctor’s advice following laser eye surgery. Hopefully he’ll be ok in time for the Worlds.

Wow!, what a session there from Mark Williams to lead Graeme Dott 7-1 in the German Masters.

Mark Williams wins two ranking events in the same season for the first time since 2002/03! If he keeps this form up he’ll be one to avoid in the world championships!

Well done Michael Georgiou the first Cyprit to win a ranking tournament by winning the Snooker Shootout. He was the best player of the weekend and deserved to win. I really hope he kicks on from this and wins more events. Really quality player, enjoyed watching him play.
It's entertaining, but I don't think it should count as a Ranking event, as it's too much of a lottery.

Try telling that to Michael Georgiou.

I don't think it should be a ranking event either. Not nice to see is members of the crowd calling out just as the player is just about to take his shot to win the match, a example of that was Tian Pengfei who kept cool when this happened in the blue-ball shootout, a member of the crowd called out when he took his shot.

Although it has been a great opportunity for lower ranked players to get vital prize money that they need to try and stay on the tour.

I'd love to see Ronnie enter it sometime - his fast-sighting & close cue-ball control would make the time clock almost irrelevant - not to mention his 5m20s maximum... ;)

Robert Milkins should have won the first frame. He had four very good chances but messed it up every time.

Bingtao through to the second round of the World Grand Prix with an impressive 4-2 win over Martin Gould. He now meets Ronnie O’Sullivan in what is sure to be a cracker after Ronnie whitewashed Milkins 4-0.
