Those BGT ratings... oh dear.

Dread to think what the finals will rate.

I haven’t watched it weeks though... I guess it’s unlucky to have to face Eurovision and The Royal Wedding back to back

Lower than normal ratings for BGT which has a knock on effect on Coronation Street.
Eastenders best week in ages and its up against BGT so ratings low, hopefully goes way up when IPlayer etc all added in the coming weeks

Shame that Eastenders didn't bounce back from the clash of BGT.

Love it or hate it, that's a brilliant rating for Love Island. Beating BBC 1 and ITV and 1.75m more than the opening rating from last year.

I wonder what the highest multichannel rating is (aka not channels 1-5)? 3m is a huge amount!

Shame about the history programme rating so poor on BBC1.

  • Author

It's the best overnight rating for ITV 2, replacing the Love Island final from last series which rated 2.6m.

I believe BBC 3 has the record for most watched multichannel overnight rating: 4.3m watched Eastenders Live: The Aftermath on 19th February 2010.

Series 4 (2018): 3.28m (17.8%)

Our Girl doesn't have room to fall, although the other series did bring in similar ratings in following episodes so maybe it will be okay. Still, dipping under 3m wouldn't be good. Seems strange that the BBC would air a young skewing show against Love Island, which has held onto its audience from the opener really well! Wonder if it can grow throughout the series.

It's hard to see how EastEnders is going to come back from this

Only Girl did okay and about what can be expected against Love Island considering it's a young skewing drama. They really should have held it back for Autumn though!

Love Island having an incredible retention - even higher than I expected!

Amazing for Love Island again! It’s bizarre seeing ITV 2 ahead of the main channel at 9pm for three consecutive days. It does feel like it’s slightly outgrowing ITV 2 yet it would feel really out of place on ITV

I think it's good when multichannels have their own hits. As you say, it would be out of place on ITV and tbh I don't think its audience would grow all that much if it was placed on ITV. It's very much a young people show and anyone who wants to watch it will be able to.
