I can't see and hope that Roeder dosn't get the sack this season. When he was West Ham manager I really didn't like him and found him ever so boring however, I've got this thing with caretaker managers who get the job permenanty that I want them to do really well. A lot of the time unfortunately, they have a great honey moon spell in charge when they're caretaker and results go their way however, once permenantly put in charge they often do really badly and quickly get the sack. However this season I pleased to say that it dosn't seem to be following the trend as Leicester City's manager Rob Kelly is doing a really good job and they are climbing up the table quickly and Richard Money - wow what a great job he is doing as Walsall manager. Also, ex Everton Assistant Manager under Joe Royle Willie Donachie who's been Assistant Manager at so many clubs, has recently been and currently is caretaker manager of Millwall and has achieved some very good results well apparantly and hopefully he will be given the permenant full time job as Millwall Manager. This will be his first ever job as actual manager of a club so good luck to him.

Yeah there some great young managers out there for sure, Boothroyd has to be a future England manager I reckon, he has done a miracle at such a young age

Clive Allen has a great future as a manager too, turned our reserve team from also rans to the best reserve team in the country so I think he will be a great club manager one day, hopefully with us

I don't think Boothroyd will become a future England manger. I mean yeah he's done good at Watfird but I can see him getting sacked to be honest within the next couple of years if Watford begin to struggle in the Premiership.

hmmm not so sure tbh they would be mad sacking him, at his age to take a team that are very poor financially to the premiership and the way things are going premiership survival is a massive achievement, I really see the guy as an English Mourinho tbh someone that did bugger all as a player but took to management at a young age like a duck to water

Well I don't think they'll sakc him yet but I mean people forget in such a short space of time how much a manger has done for a club, I mean look at Bryan Robson at West Brom. He saved them from relegation from the skin of their teeth when they were the underdogs to survive releagtion and within 18 months of that he was sacked. :manson:

ALLEGEDLY Robson was sacked for nothing to do with team performance but to do with something else but lets not go there lol

But yeah you do have a point, short termism in football is ridiculous, Alex Ferguson really struggled in the early seasons at Man Utd but went on to be one of the all time greats, had he joined Man Utd today fans and media would be calling for his head after a few bad games

Yeah i've heard the same rumours about Robson but I dunno whether they were true. But West Brom were on a bit of bad form when they sacked him but still. I suppose its the same with Nigel Worthington at Norwich, he took them to the Premiership for the first time in ages yet a couple of years later he's for the sack. I know they've being struggling in the Championship but its been proven before that the majority of teams that come down from the Premiership struggle in the Championship.

Yeah I was like fearful of posting what has been alleged as don't want to get Phil sued or anything

Yeah absolutely, with the exception of Sunderland in recent years most teams that go down from the Premiership struggle to go back up and I guess as the saying goes a manager is only as good as his last game

I think Ady Boothroyd is an arrogant c**t.

Maybe so but he has every reason to be, taking on the Watford job at like 33 years old without a penny to spend and taking them to the Premiership and a decent start in that league again with nowt to spend shows that he is potentially a bit special

He signed Marlon "I'll turn up when I can be arsed which is never so I'll just play $h!t forever" King for over 500k so he has spent money...

It's all the shyte that he says about thinking twice before signing any foreign players because they're not as good. What a load of bollocks. If they're a good player and you're a good manager they should do well.

Who does Clive Allen work for again? Also, yes Boothroyd has done a really good job in charge of Watford although I can't for a long, long while see him being a future England manager as really he needs to manage a big club before he considered for the job. Also, I'm not that convinced they'll survive in The Premiership this season although I really hope they do. I especially hope that Reading survive. They have a good squad, have done quite well since getting promoted and have a proven, quality manager in Steve Coppell.

Spurs reserve team and youth team manager ^_^

Yeah I like Reading, they are well financed by Madejski but I have respect for them and hope they stay up

yep same.

I always root for the smaller teams to stay up in the prem because they tend to know more of what true football is about... Grass Roots, not billions-a-year wages

I'm glad Wigan stayed up last time, and I predict Reading and possibly Sheffield United to stay up this season as well. As good a manager as Ady Boothroyd is, I just can't see Watford staying up this season..

..Elton will be gutted

yeah agreed although it is Sheffield United not Wednesday. Sheffield Wednesday recently sacked Paul Sturrock and are gonna announce their new manager on Sunday which is thought to be Scunthorpe Manager Brian Laws. I think and really hope that Reading will stay up although I'm not convinced that Sheffied United will stay up. I also think that Watford will struggle although I've got a feeling they may stay up by one or two points above the relegation zone.

Could be Burnley, Preston and Cardiff next season. Would be pretty odd!

ye lol that would be. I really like Preston and really do hope they finally get promoted. For a start the legendary David Moyes used to manage them and got them promoted from the third division to the championship and to the The Championship Play Off Final only for them to lose. Billy Davies is another red haired Scot who did a really good job in charge and now Paul Simpson is doing a really good job as well. Preston are a really good club who are really well managed and you never ever hear fans complaining or saying sack the board etc. Something that a lot of people don't realise is that for his first couple of years in charge of Preston, David Moyes was player manager and that is a very tough job which a lot of people struggle to combine the two of them and inevitably it costs the team and their position in charge so all credit to David Moyes for doing so well in charge of Preston and doing so well that he got the Everton job where he has and still is doing such a great job. Up the blues!

D'Oh! I'm always doing that, thanks for pointing that one out

I reckon Cardiff, Birmingham and Preston will go up into the Prem this season, and Watford, West Ham and possibly Sheffield United will go down. I'm hoping Man Utd win it this season, I can't stand Chelsea :(

That would be odd. :o At the start of the season their the clubs you would have thought might have an outside chance of being in the Premiership but if those three clubs wen tup I think only possibly Preston could survive and the other two would come straight back down to the Championship.
