November 8, 200618 yr Keep Freddy, I say!!!! He's doing a great job! :party2: From your point of view he probably is. But from a Newcastle fans point of view he's doing a really poor job. I reckon he'll try and get Shearer as manager to try and win over the fans, but he's a BBC pundit for the time being so I can't really see that happening just yet.

Of course they'll get she-ra... the man can do no wrong <_< And I hope it's a baptism of fire for him -_-
November 8, 200618 yr I don't understand what Freddy has done wrong  He has hardly been Doug Ellis and only giving managers £2m a year to spend he has given his managers HUGE amounts of money, more money than any manager bar Mourinho and Ferguson have seen in their career

The club itself has masses of potential yet he never does anything about it. Instead he pays people too much money when there no way up to the standard of the Premiership. The worst thing he ever did was sack Sir Bobby Robson and thats how this whole mess there in started. I feel even more sympathy for Roeder now that Ameobi is gonna be out for the season once he has surgery.
November 8, 200618 yr Author Post I've found elsehwere: The problem with Newcastle in the main is that they are extremely poorly run. Shepherd is a fool who is prone to making dubious managerial appointments and then promptly getting rid of them when they inevitably fail to work out, or, in the case of Robson, just failing to appreciate what a good thing they were on to. There's no stability at the club. They also have a completely mad transfer policy which seems to involve signing big money strikers who are either a) not very good B) end up crocked or c) aren't natural goalscorers. It also seems to entail signing more midfielders than you're ever likely to need whilst completely ignoring an inept and dysfunctional defence. They need to learn that having money doesn't in itself mean a thing if you don't use that money wisely. Instead of locating specific players they actually need cash is splashed on players with seemingly no thought as to how they will be used or as to how that team will actually function. I feel sorry for the fans because as a club I always think Newcastle have a great deal of potential, but I think they have to make changes from top to bottom and the first step is to get rid of Shepherd. Reply from a Newcastle fan: Well said

Chelsea have changed the landscape of football though Josh, Newcastle and other clubs have to pay massive wages to stop players going to Chelsea and agents generate fake interest from Chelsea in order to increase the wage for their client so I see where Shepherd is coming from in paying high wages and lets face it Newcastle is the sort of place as a city you would send your mother in law to as a punishment, cold $h!tty weather, mass unemployment, brown ale and so on, would a superstar player really choose Newcastle as a city ? on that basis wages have to be higher to persuade players to go there. Robson and Souness have won tons of silverware and Shepherd thought they would work out, they didn't

Some agents do say Chelsea are intrested so that the clubs feel under pressure to give into the demands, but I mean certain players like Luque etc, well I don't think Chelsea would ever be intrested in the. I just feel Shepeard can give into agents and players demands too easily. If he had a bit more patience then he would probably save himself a lot of money. Say for example the whole Owen fiasco; the only two clubs that could afford him and who were intrested in him were Liverpool and Newcastle. Liverpool were never gonna pay Real Madrid more than what they sold him for yet Real Madrid managed to flog him to Newcastle for double what they bought him for. If Newcastle had waited a season later they probably could have bought Dirk Kuyt had Owen gone to Liverpool, who IMO is turning out to be a very good buy. ^_^

I suppsoe when it look at it like that Shepherd isn't as bad as Ellis but its just the fact he had loads of money yet he never uses it all properly. :manson:
