YTD Sales : Please read these guidelines before you request sales estimates, it makes my task a lot easier.

 

1. Be specific - please name the artist and title for each entry you'd like an estimate for.

2. I log sales for all albums that have charted this year, but only update those that have sold enough to reach my 200 position tracking range

3. If an album isn't in the current Top 100, I won't be able to update its sales until Tues. Also, please don't ask about ex-T100 albums too often - once a month at most)

4. Remember to check the thread before requesting estimates - they may already have been answered. Also, no more than half-a-dozen requests at a time, thanks.

5. Please note my figures are combined sales & streams, and since I have no way of separating them, I cannot provide a split.

6. While I am no longer estimating singles sales, I can provide YTD singles positions from C+, and I am still maintaining my sales archive based on published figures (PM me if you want to see it)

'ABBA Gold' is given 4,619,500 UK Sales in this W/E 18th January 2018 Thread.

 

It is missing many 100,000 UK Sales.

 

On Monday 11th August 2008 Alan Jones said this:

 

"Gold: Greatest Hits sold 38,161 copies last week, and continues to climb closer to the all-time top three albums list. To close of business

on August 2, it had sold 4,191,426 copies".

 

Which only gives it 428,074 UK Sales from August 2008 to January 2018. It has clearly sold far more than that, in that period.

 

It sold 410,119 copies in 2008, 248,500 in 2009, 150,900 in 2010, 95,400 in 2011, 81,300 in 2012, 77,250 in 2013, 70,300 in 2014,

84,000 in 2015, 88,500 in 2016 & 91,000 in 2017. Plus 5,500 - so far - in 2018.

 

With 'Mamma Mia 2' coming out in late July, 'ABBA Gold' is sure to sell over 100,000 UK copies, by the end of 2018. Even though most

of the ABBA Songs in the 2nd Film will be from 'More ABBA Gold', & various ABBA Studio Albums.

My total is based on the last official figure I have : 4609.5k to 28/12/17 + estimates for the three weeks since.

 

Since it was released before the OCC took over sales tracking in 1994, I have no idea if/how many pre-1994 sales are not included.

Since it first entered the UK Charts, (W/E 3rd October 1992), 'ABBA Gold' has sold at least

5,400,000 UK copies. Indeed, Gezza gives it an even bigger UK Sale of 5,594,200, to last Friday

- 12th January 2018.

 

It depends how many estimated UK Sales you give it for W/E 3rd October 1992 to W/E 5th February 1994.

 

The OCC have full details of its UK Sales from W/E 12th February 1994 to W/E 18th January 2018.
