So I know a lot of reasons why I purchase a games console but its mainly due to memory and the games for it. It made me wonder what everyone else looks for in a games console.What do you look for when purchasing a games console? Price, Capability, graphics, memory, games for the console or anything other aspects?

I look at the name and if it says "Xbox" I don't buy it... ^_^

 

No, seriously, I look for bundles mainly. I'd rather not buy the console by itself unless there are physically no bundles around, I'll always try and see if there are any games I like and hope there a bundle exists. If not, I try and shop around to see if I can get the games I want cheaper so it feels like I'm getting a "bundle" of sorts.

 

Memory isn't really THAT much of an issue now that you can use external hard-drives with the most recent consoles, and as pretty as graphics are, there isn't enough of a difference for me to swap my current PS4 for the Pro or even the Xbox One X.

I’ve tended to stick to what I know best which for me has always been Playstaion, right from the go up to the current console.

 

I’ve dabbled with Nintendo’s before but never truly been a Nintendo geek, and I’ve always avoided Xbox.

 

I owned a couple of Sega consoles a long time ago too.

I believe the one time I bought a console I looked for a bundle so there was that.

 

Dispel a myth for me, are they not all very similar in terms of processing power taking one particular generation?

I get bundled versions of game consoles too. I got my PS4 with a copy of Uncharted 4 :wub:

I just look for fun

 

First console was a Nintendo Wii - never ending fun

 

Then I had an Xbox 360 - very different to wii but also fun

 

Then got a PS4 which is great

 

The Nintendo wii provides the most fun. There are so many games

I stay loyal to the Playstation. What's important for me in deciding to jump up a generation is the games that are available. I was an early adopter of the PS4 which is unusual for me as I tend to wait until Gran Turismo is released on the console or there's a decent cache of games that I want to play.
